I do enjoy putting mine into sport mode when near a Tesla. I'm sure they think I'm a dick but it makes me smile that I make noise and they don't

Tesla even humiliate supercars in drag race. So they will just be laughing at you if you're in a BMW and attempt to challenge their performance mate, they will be long gone before your car even down shift the gears. 0 to 60 mph in 2.2 secs, 0 to 100 mph in 6.5 secs and a quarter mile in 10.5 secs, whilst burning no fuel and emitting zero toxic in the air. Also don't need to worry about running cost as it gets free road tax and free electricity at supercharger stations. That sounds like the future indeed.

And once the future arrives and everyone has one, how will governments produce revenue?

Guy at work has one, I think a 60 or 70 and for every meeting away from the office he has range anxiety.

Not fit for general purpose.

P100D has 381 miles range that's more than the range of a Porsche with full tank i am getting.

I can understand about range anxiety, but supercharger can replenish half the battery in as little as 20 minutes while you're stopping for a cup of tea or toilet. Many new charging stations are now u/c also many more have been planned to be installed in shopping centres, hotels and underground parkings. I don't know how this is going to work when lots of more affordable model 3 come out, but as of now most charging stations are empty even at Euro Tunnel car park.

Indeed. I know someone who has a P8?. he likes to show it acceleration when I'm in it. Then we drive everywhere at 30 MPH

You really haven't got a clue have you? Not just about cars, but about economics, capitalism and energy generation.

Simple. The Model 3 doesn't get free access to the network. Plus, "For Teslas ordered after January 1, 2017, 400 kWh of free Supercharging credits (roughly 1,000 miles) will be included annually so that all owners can continue to enjoy free Supercharging during travel. Beyond that, there will be a small fee to Supercharge which will be charged incrementally and cost less than the price of filling up a comparable gas car"

Government's will, of course, tax electricity at a higher rate to make up for the lost income from fuel taxes. Will legislation and technology also ensure that we don't pay that extra tax on the electricity used for boiling the kettle. I know where my bet would go.

Not to worry anyway, as we won't have the electricity supplies to charge all these electric cars anyway. We'd need to be planning and building the power stations now.

Clearly my point. So, you're saying ordinary, toxic emitting, poor people's ancient cars with CE make at least 3 times more pollution, first being the factories themselves, second is the CO2 coming out from exhausts, and third is the petroleum industries to make these polar bear killing boxes move? Well done, Tesla! Your statement approves how dangerous these combustion engines are.

Mate, it only costs around £2 to fully charge a Tesla at home and it gives you over 300 miles range of course it depends on your driving style. But it costs about £60 to fill up a tank of petrol in a normal car to get the same range. And Tesla doesn't need to be serviced every year, no oil or filter change. I drive less than 100 miles a week, so it will easily give a person like me at least 2 weeks without charging. Only problem with these cars is the price tag, very unaffordable for most people. Hope the prices will come down eventually.

Not at all. You stated it was the future and cars such as the Tesla (excellent car btw) emit zero emissions. Unless they were crafted from resources conjured up out of thin air and are powered by a resource that has zero impact on your Polar Bears? My poor ancient car may well be that but until you invent a power source that is truly zero right from source, I would suggest everyone jumping in to Teslas may not be the utopian ideal you think it is right now.

Everybody needs to start from somewhere. Creation of Tesla is to act as a catalyst to accelerate the transition to sustainable transport.
