US G30 buyers get scammed???

The digital dash that G11 7 series debuted got carried over to g30 5 series according to BMW. I personally saw it on toronto auto show last week.

However, all the youtube videos and bimmerpost pictures from US that reviewing it have this half ass version?!!!! Speedo and tacho marker are anolog?!! Wtf?

I checked bmwusa configurator for both 530 and 540, no option for the good stuff full digital dash. Ordering guide of US has no 6wb option (aka digital dash) present. Wtf?

Bmw.ca Canadian website and ordering guide from my local dealer all have it standard on all models of g30.

WTF. The great U.S. of A gets snubbed? Seriously? Even last gen 5 and x5/6 has 6wb.

I think it has to do with production, once the 2018s go into production in July, this most likely will be addressed.

This has been addressed in other threads. The thought is it is more than likely an initial supply issue and will be changed.

The 4 LCI and 3 are getting the option for a digital dash. I don't think they will leave the 5 out here.

IMO it will come with the 2018 models of the G30, just the 2018 530e and the 2018 M550i.

Ive heard it wont be available in the US, atleast at first.

Wondering if there is some US DOT problem with the full digital ones

Not true. G30 540i without any addons and i MEAN everything basic which has non of the stuff that UK or US standard has and starting price is 84000eu. With decent addons the price goes to 115000euros. thats much much more than just 10000 difference here in Finland. I wouldnt be crying for dashboard if i can get the 540i fo 60000.....

This is not a supply or production issue as it is available in all models in Europe. It is certainly related to laws or something in the USA.
For example in France we can't get the automatic lane change function while driving with cruise control, because it has not been validated yet (the feature is there but disabled). My car dealer told me it will be enabled soon..

Anti dazzle is disable here in north america but we can code it easily to re enable

Adjust the exchange rate. Not that much of a difference. Plus, scam means us doesn't get the option for digital dash, that is what i was talking about. FYI - The new G31 configurator just popped up on the bmw.cz website and the default instruments are the third, so far unseen analogue instrument version with only small rectangle display below the speedo and tacho...
