Thoughts??
http://www.landrover.com/vehicles/ra...lar/index.html I think this looks rather nice. More grown up compared to the Evoque but not so in your face as the Sport. Some nice styling features too. Haven't priced it up on the configurator yet though.

I really like it, I'm not too keen on the design of the rear of the vehicle but from the front and side view it looks great...
I would seriously be tempted at one of these if I could get the price right. I guess I will know once I see one on the road for the first time. |

One thing they do have right is getting the configurator online for release date. Brand new model, configurator same day. 4 Series LCI announced and 2 months later still no sign of the configurator working, piss poor. Last edited by Goneinsixtyseconds; 03-01-2017 at 04:01 PM.. |

Really like it but I knew I would anyway as I really like all the current land rovers.
Problem with this velar is the price. I can see what they are trying to achieve but it will be the same as the disco, by the time you put some options on it it'll be 60k+ and you might as well buy a Range Rover that comes with it all standard. Told myself since I was a kid I wanted to buy a Range Rover on my 30th birthday. I'm 3 years away and can't see it happening unless my career trajectory takes a very steep rise. |

Personally think it looks fantastic. Quite a bit of info on here: http://www.velarforums.co.uk including info on a First Edition model that costs £83,000....

Lovely, and comes with a 6 pot petrol and diesel option. If they sort out a hybrid then could be an option in 3 years for me.

like it. but if you assume governments will ruin the diesel market over next few years and therefore more of us with SUV's in the family will look at petrol or hybrid SUV options (already considering that when I replace the X5) then if you spec the "R" model and the nice 3.0V6 petrol you're north of 75K in no time so not quite the headline grabbing 45K...though if you take the 4 pot diesel with no options it is true. i'm sure 12 months after customer deliveries start the nearly new market will be awash with these for more realistic prices as it is right now for the RR Sport's

JLR have filled the gap between the evoke and the sport with a car as expensive as the sport. Unless you want a poor looking 2.0 riding on 17 inch wheels that is. |

I doubt there will be much if any discount at all on these. Although that would mean high residuals. Will be a very in demand car for at least a while yet. Quite like it!

I truly dislike touch screens in cars, never come across one that does not show finger prints every time it's used. I'd spend too much time cleaning it. That apart the LR looks the part. |

I watched the live reveal last night and subsequent videos.
The V6 motors should work well with the car. My initial model build came to over £80k which is daft as there were plenty of options omitted. I plan to get one for September 18 when the early build issues should get ironed out, plus the order to bulid time is likely to over 6 months. I hope the get the Infotainment system right.

I am also interested - I dont need a big car but like the high up position and practicality. Cars with that and a decent engine option are few and far between these days - GLC 43, Macan, new SQ5, or F Pace seem to be the options at the moment. If BMW do the new X3 with a 40i derivative that will be in there too.
The Velar is too expensive but if residuals are good and monthlies bearable I am OK with PCP rather than outright purchase this time. Similar comments apply to Macan and its less attractive in my eyes. F Pace just doesnt do it for me (and the son in law has one!). GLC would be a good option if I could guarantee not getting the skip on full lock.... It will be a March 18 delivery anyway I suspect so plenty of time to make my mind up...well, maybe 4 months given the wait for some of them!! |

I think it looks much better on the Velar, being a bit more svelte.
