1000 miles on my car... Air Conditioning went out this morning.
Picked up my car on friday (took redelivery). I put 600 miles on it in Germany, AC was working fine. Put another 400 miles on it this weekend. AC was working just fine. Get in the car this morning and there is no air coming out of any of the AC vents. All the vents are open. I played with all the settings, read through the manual etc...
I can turn the AC all the way up and it still won't blow out any air. Anyone have this happen before? I've got a service appointment in the morning. |

No air at all from any vent? If so it's definitely broken nothing to be done but get it fixed. If it's not all cold air or air from only top/bottom make sure the temperature selector is all the way to cold.

Do you notice whether the dashboard is dimmer than it should be? As if all the lights on the dashboard were off?

+1, my thoughts exactly, coz I have seen it happen once. Somehow, the glovebox light is wired to the same fuse circuit of the AC blower, and the dashboard lights.

does it work if you put the HVAC on manual, and put it on full blower?
check your fuses. it could also be the final stage resistor (controls variable fan speed) |

Time for a visit to your local dealer......but I would start with checking the fuses like anerbe said.

335i's still carry this bug? this is an old bug since 05. My 325i gets it randomly too (haven't seen it for like 6 months now). I didn't bother to bring it to the dealer. since it's almost impossible to duplicate.
Just turn it off and back on like 15 mins and everything is fine. |
