Anyone using Ohlins Coils?

Specifically the Road & Track series. Couldn't find much reviews on them.

I ran into the same situation in researching these coils. Not a lot of info out there with regard to the F30/F32 platform. However, Ohlins is by far one of the top names in suspension design and certainly to be trusted.

I didn't end up picking them up as my msport stance worked out perfect with the wheel/tire combo I'm running. But, if you want to get a feel for how good they are I would recommend simply searching for reviews on the "Road & Track" coils as a whole. There's a myriad of different applications out there for all types of cars and through and through the reviews are glowing. I wouldn't hesitate on the purchase a bit, I'm even tempted to run them at my factory height just to upgrade the ride quality.

We have many happy customers running them. Let me know if you have any questions.

Let us know if you have any questions. We have sold and installed more Ohlins on late model BMWs than anyone else we know. You can also reach out to Jake at Ohlins USA for any questions you may have.

I have them on my 335, and they are fantastic - highly recommended. Night and day improvement over the OEM EDC dampers with Dinan springs and Shockware that I had been running. Firmer overall, but still plenty compliant for daily driving on crappy roads.
I did swap out the front springs to 7" 8kg Swift springs though, which corrected two mild complaints I had with the kit: a bit softer in the front than desired, and a bit of a tendency toward oversteer on corner exit.

Do you know if Ohlins coilovers allow to maintain the OEM suspension height?

Yes, you can run at at stock height or slightly lower the stock. It does not allow lowering over 1" in most cases unless shorter springs are used.

Just had Road & Track coilovers installed on my 340i a few days ago and will write a full review shortly, I want to experiment a bit more and get to know them a little better but so far I am impressed. This system is exactly what I wanted, firm with exceptional body control. You feel every surface of the road and the car has become much more responsive compared to the EDC / M Adaptive suspension I had.

I started with the dampers at -10 clicks which felt pretty nice but slightly bouncy, firming them up to -7 seems to be close to perfect, I feel like the damper firmness matches the supplied spring rates well and there are absolutely no additional bounces after the suspension absorbs a bump, impact, etc.

EDC does an extremely good job of smoothing out small bumps to give very, very good comfort. The Ohlins Road & Track loses some of that extreme smoothness over small undulations but is still very comfortable overall. larger bumps are absorbed even better by the R&T than EDC in either Comfort or Sport modes, EDC was a little floaty in Comfort and bouncy in Sport. Cornering performance, especially on rough roads, is really something special with the Ohlins.

The kit comes with 16kg rear and 6kg front springs, but they perform MUCH better with 8kg springs in the front.... also, since I was buying new front springs anyway, I dropped the length from 8" down to 7", which I believe is a better match to the front suspension geometry.

Mine are in a F20 but I went with swift springs
7kg front (7" long)
12kg rear.

I found the 16kgs rears too harsh. It may be better in a F3x with a longer wheelbase.

Why would you ditch Ohlins springs for swift? I understand the shorter, but? Ohlins are way better than swift.

I’m surprised Ohlins won’t sell a custom spring with their kit.

They will. The standard front springs for Ohlins R&T for the F3X are 60N/mm - my car has Ohlins custom 80N/mm springs, as per my previous replies to your posts.

Been running Ohlins R&T for about a year, several track days and thousands of miles. They feel really good, running past e90 m3 and f22 on track. Miles better than the BC Racing kit I had before.

Only downside... If something were to happen and you damaged a part of the suspension, be prepared to wait. This has happened to me... currently at 4 months for a drivers side front strut. Ohlins says part has been on back order.
As of right now the part is on its way from Sweden.
