Sorry for not being able to figure this out.. spent a bunch of time on Turner's site trying to figure it out, plus VIN lookup.

I have a 14 F32 435. The fronts are the bigger grey (brembo?) calipers, with the smaller grey set on the rears. I have the*2A5 option of bigger wheels (to fit over the bigger calipers?) but don't see the codes for the M sport or performance setups.

So maybe stock brakes, not M sport (as they would be blue?) or M Performance (as they would be red?).

Thanks

I literally just posted about this in a different thread as I had the dealership parts department look up exactly what calipers/rotors I have on my 2016 328i M Sport 6MT. I do NOT have the additional $650 cost M Sport Brake Upgrade and my calipers are gray. This is the information they sent me.

Specs:
• Front: Brembo 4-piston calipers, grey/unfinished; 340mm blank brake rotors
• Rear: OEM (Bosch, Ate, etc) 1-piston calipers, grey/unfinished; 330mm blank brake rotors

I under the impression from the info I've found on here and other sites that if the calipers were unpainted/grey, I had the crappy single piston base calipers front and rear. Your best bet is to have the parts dept at the dealership tell you what's on your car with your VIN.

thanks and solid advice! I am assuming stock brakes as Sport appear to be blue, and performance are red.

I'm still learning but the blue calipers are from cars with the $650 M Sport brake upgrade which is 4 piston front/2 piston rear with 340mm front rotors and 345mm rear rotors (not a typo). The red, in addition with yellow and orange, calipers are part of the optional M Perfomance Upgrade package that has the same calipers but dimpled and slotted 370mm fronts and 345mm rears. The M Performance Brake Kit seems to be a good turn key solution for those wanting to jump from say the base model single piston caliper brakes.

In our (or at least my situation) with the 340mm fronts 4 piston/330mm rears single piston, the most cost effective solution may be getting the M Sport Brake rear calipers to make them 2 pistons in the rear and upsizing the rotor to 345mm. In essence, after powdercoating the calipers, I would have the exact M Sport Brake upgrade that was a $650 option for new cars.

Check out these articles from Turner regarding identifying the different brake packages. Very helpful and spells our which pads and rotors are required.

Those are the links I read that confused me even more. Ha ha. My braking pkg - 4 piston grey calipers in front and 1 grey piston in rear with 340mm and 330mm rotors aren't listed. Apparently there was some sort of braking pkg difference made in the most recent model years.

You can always send the last 7 of your VIN to Turner Motorsports and they'll help identify the brake system and components. Worth a shot...

All 335i come with 4 piston calipers in the front.

Ah, my mistake. I mis-read the OP's original description. I was commenting on the fact that the 328i brake size changed after 2014 I believe.

other than the rotor size, does anyone know if the M performance (blue) brakes will fit from a 2016 M235 on an F30 ('14)? from what I've read they will but will need different rotors for the rears. just trying to piece this together as a new F30 owner

There was a thread I was reading recently about an F30 sedan owner swapping out the rear one pistons for the 2 piston Brembo calipers. It needed a 345mm rear rotor.

Thank you very much for this! And the stock rotor size for the M sport is?

All US 328i have the
1-piston front 312x24mm rotor
1-piston rear 300X20mm rotor

unless they have P337A Sport Pakage or S2NHA Sport Brake
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=34_2314

Also the Blue Caliper S2NHA Option is not the same front size for US 328i and US 335i models (they just have the same caliper colour)
US 328i and US 335i have the same rear size S2NHA rotor, but due to different emergency brake, the rotor are NOT identical and have different part numbers.

Also see my post and linked Excel sheet listing those options
