Hi,
Has anyone done a delete of just one of the midpipe resonator / silencers with an MPE back box? if so any chance of a video please?

Cheers

Remus Uk now show both unsilenced and silenced twin tube midpipes for mX40I

http://www.remusuk.com/model.asp?id=... (F22)&man=BMW

Unsilenced front section to replace front silencer Part No. 089016 0000 RRP £490.80 inc 20% VAT

Silenced front section to replace front silencer Part No. 089016 0300 RRP £616.80 inc 20% VAT

I have remus midpipe on m135i with BCS 200cpi DP and oem MPE - sounds good but then N55 MPE retains the LHS valve. If I had an mx40i, I would opt for the cheapest option ie try unslienced midpipe 1st with OEM DP and rear box then perhaps add a used M235i MPE to it or get yr stock oem box modified by PCW or similar so as you retain the valve feature....

This should give you an idea. It's a 340i (B58 Engine) with MPE and non-resonated midpipe (both resonators delete).

I actually think it sounds really nice. I am doing both resonator deletes and a catless DP and hope it sounds similar.

In the other thread it sounds nice. Maybe its the MPE with the delete. But if you like it that is all that matters.

I do love the sound of the other thread with just the deleted resonators. The MPE probably just changes the sound a bit. I assume the DP will change the sound as well. I just hope it's for the better.

It could also be the difference between the 340 and M240i engine - both N58 but with the power difference there might be something cause a different sound? I dunno - maybe>

That's a good point that I did not think of. Hearing the clips just posted of the M240i I think it may be a good possibility.

This sounds great!
Yes it does !!

No "raspyness" and trashcan-like sound. Nice deep note.

Yes sounds better in the 2nd YT than 1st - 1st sounds a bit too "farty"

remember the MPE for the M240i doesn't retain the exhaust valve / flap its straight through.

Incorrect. MPE still retains the butterfly valve. You can however 'unplug mod' like the stock exhaust.

Not for the M240i - the MPE does NOT have the valve.

see realoem.com

if you have the valve on the MPE on your M240i its not the correct one I'm afraid.

Well damn. That was not the way I've understood it I've got week 29 M240i on order with MPE already paid for from the stealership and the car is preliminarily booked in for a Powerflow Midpipe / twin resonator delete the day after collection, something which I was only doing because having the valve would have allowed me to crawl out of our neighbourhood at 5am without making any enemy's. Guess I'll have to rethink....

Don't rethink your exhaust setup, rethink the way to treat your neighbours, haha.
If they complain, go for a drive - you'll clean your head.

Do you have a part number on the power flow midpipe? It's a 2018 thing right?

Haha, that's another approach!

Sorry no part number, Powerflow are a Custom Stainless Steel exhaust vendor who operate all over the UK (effectively the equivalent of your normal exhaust shop only they offer lifetime warranty) They are cutting the stock exhaust upstream of the front resonator & downstream of the rear (one section), welding in flanged connections and making up the straight pipe to match for the ability to change in/out if needed, or ability to put back in if I hand back at the end of the lease.
