530E M Sport Order, nearly final but need help
Hi Guys,
It is a bit of a poverty spec order but I was wondering if you can kindly give me feedback for finer details and options. I am currently going for: 530 E M SPORT, (with the standard silver 19's) Blue stone Metallic, Fine wood trim finline ridge with Cognac dakota leather Adaptive Headlights Spilt fold seats Loud speaker System sun protection glass powered tailgate and bmw display key would anyone pick anything in replacement of these options above? ie gesture control for display key? (keeping the cost equivalents in consideration) are the colour combos okay? am i going to regret not getting VDC? Anything else to consider? many thanks for all your help in advance |

I've ordered the following spec:
M Sport Bluestone Metallic Ivory Nappa Leather Burled Walnut Trim Comfort Seats Parking Assistant + Comfort Access Exterior Folding Mirrors Adaptive LED Headlights Headlight Wash High Beam Assistant Enhanced Bluetooth with wireless charging Loudspeakers - BMW Enhanced WiFi Hotspot Powered Boot lid Ambient Air Massage Front Seats Seat Ventilation Soft Close Doors Split folding rear seats Steering Wheel Heating Sun Blinds Side & Rear Display Key Variable Damper Control Sun Protection Glass This will be my 14th BMW since my first one in 1982. I've known my local dealer for donkeys years. This is the first time I've ever ordered an M Sport spec, I did it because I wanted nappa leather & ventilated seats. My dealer insists that I need VDC because I'm used to softer suspension, my current car being a 'luxury' spec. Personally, if I was on a limited budget I'd lose the loud speaker system & the display key & go for the VDC. I only ordered the display key because of the Parking Assistant +. You say it's a 'poverty' spec you're ordering but it's still a beautiful car. I think the Bluestone Metallic is a stunning colour. I've had all sorts of colours over the years but this Bluestone looks the business, that's probably why BMW have used it in all their publicity for the 5 series. I hope you enjoy your new car. |

spec choice
if it was me I'd lose the privacy glass and display key and even the better speakers
for the vdc..I think it might be handy with the extra battery weight! |

I went to the launch of the G30, 5 series and loved it. I have had to negotiate quite hard with the dealers (Manchester area) and lease companies but eventually got to where we wanted. However I have had to lease it for 4 years to get a better deal. Is yours a company car? I haven't officially ordered yet but will be doing this week. Hoping for the July delivery! |

Are the standard speakers decent? I have Bose in my black edition Audi and they were very good. I will have the 5 series for 4 years so don't want to regret this decision |

yes it will be a company car. As you say the tax laws are crippling and this will only cost me about £150 per month in co car tax. How many miles do you drive a year? I drive about 26k. I presume you will be charging it every day? I have a quotefor about 16.5% discount plus the government incentive of 2.5k towards it. I will not be bothering with the VDC as im happy with the existing M Sport suspension on my current 5 series and this new one is apparently slightly softer which suits me. I had an Audi A5 S Line before and the suspension was hard compared to my 5 series. |

I would ditch sun protect. Went from an F10 with it to one without it and don't miss it at all, in fact prefer not to have it when parking/reversing in poor light.

Thanks Morellomax, ref Sun protect.
It's just the kids (5 and 3) will be in the back most weekends. Yes Manchester are you? Or are you thinking we only get rain so don't need sun protect hahahaha. I am now also thinking of going for Bluestone with Ivory white dakota with blured walnut trim. Is this the better matching exterior/interor? However I still really like the Cognac though! AND will the white be hard to look after with 2 toddlers! Not that they mess the current car up too much. (apart from kicking the seats). |

Standard lights are absolutley fine, very bright, suggest High Beam assist if you do, cheap option... Anti-Dazzle, folding side mirrors Advanced Speaker system (Sun Protection glass looks cool, not critical) My 2 cents worth with 2 models and mistakes made

I just seen your car, it looks stunning. I see you have the adapative lights and they look very good indeed. I have a question about your wheels? They are 18" and not 19" M sport, also a different design? Did you specify 18's? btw your blue interior looks stunning. |

Again 18" M Sport 662M wheels...on purpose; I was going to order M Sport Plus pack with 19" rims, but decided against it, bumpier ride even with VDC, but more important a real b*tch to keep clean, so many facets... my 18" rims are a breeze to clean, only 5 spoke pairs per wheel
