Fake te37 opions
Hi all I have an opportunity to purchase a set of volk te37 reps for $500
with center caps included. I have my doubts as from the fake wheel horror stories but wanted some opinions before I buy (preferably from with others running fake wheels) These are Brand New In Box |

Okay yes i have seen the pics but I doubt this has happened to every replica wheel and what were the conditions in which this wheels were put to for this to happen I don't want a simple NO from someone that has not had any experience with it or I googled it and i saw horrible pictures

Odds are that if you use OEM, quality aftermarket, or eBay reps, you will probably never see a failure. It is just what odds are you willing to risk?
The other thing to consider is the kind of failure you are willing to risk. Do you want a flat tire or do you want a catastrophic failure? I'm just throwing numbers out there: But do you want a 1% chance of a flat tire from a pothole or a 3% chance of the wheel coming off from a pothole? OP is really the only one that can decide the level of risk he is willing to take. |

Go buy your reps sounds like your mind is made up.
Some people can learn from others mistakes, some people have to make their own. Aside from the safety issues (which is the #1 issue) you are going to be rocking knock offs like a poser. Do you also wear fake Jordan's on your feet and a Folex on your wrist etc? Last edited by Torgus; 03-18-2017 at 04:28 PM.. |

Typical Toronto area BMW owner wanting to stunt with fake ass wheels because they can't get the real deal. Every fucking E9X guy in this town pushes replica bullshit and M stripes everywhere while their car is pissing oil and misfiring, but JB4 and 19z on Ironman tires is Lyfe yo.
You gotta pay to play.

It's not a personal argument at all. Your post fits into the exact demographic I mentioned. You want to pose hard with nicer rims but don't want to/can't pay for the real deal. That's Stunt 101.
You're actually looking to buy shitty replica wheels that cost less than the price one wheel from a legitimate company. You have no leg to stand on. Multiple people have posted "actual information" for you to consume but you keep denying it. So keep drinking your cool aid, rookie.

All BS aside, keep saving until you can buy used legit wheels if you want to go aftermarket. Don't buy replicas, they'll cost you more in the long run.
Keep an eye out, you can find good prices on used sets.

Holy fuck there is a reason they cost $500 for 4 BNIB which don't cost as much as a single BBS. Use your common sense bud.
I don't need 1st hand experience with shitty reps. I've read plenty about them and seen multiple videos showing how shitty they are. I have bought plenty of real rims that bend & crack because they were cheap. I can't imagine how shitty some gravity cast reps would be. I have CHRs now and not a bent or cracked wheel in 4 years driving on the exact same roads. If you need 1st hand experience go buy your cheap reps and be a poser. Here is some sound advice: Save up your money and buy some used real rims if you can't afford new. This is how this thread looks and the OP:

+1 dont get reps, who are you trying to fake out any ways with TE37s? Find a decent quality aftermarket rim. I used Enkei Raijins, they look pretty close to CSL's, for a few years, no problems and they are reasonable as far as pricing.
If you're going to buy a nice German luxury car, I wouldnt bother with knock offs and shitty parts just my opinion.

There was a thread here of a guy who crushed into curb while driving and OEM BMW rims were badly damaged, chunk of rim was torn, but still hold the air - it was amazing actually. Now that's some quality rims, tho they were just stock 162 style ones, but they are over-engineered by BMW with huge safety margin imho. Some fake rims are exactly opposite, they often brake even if you are just driving, let alone hitting the curb lol

Who cares about what these guys are saying. It's your car, if you want to buy reps do it! It'll look good and you'll be fine. 75% of people on the forums run reps in one way or another.

even the real deals fail. they just arent prone to it(hence the risk). it also depends on what punishment they go through as well. if you have the money for real wheels then thats the route to go, if not ive seen plenty of happy rep owners.

There's a set of te37 on the FS section I saw last week in boston. Very conservative offset for Non-Ms, so that means no concave. 18x9.5 +35.
But it's kinda above your budget. =\ |
