BBK question

As someone who is going to be going to track days a bit more often, I'll need to upgrade my brakes a bit. (They're due for a brake service anyways)

I have 3 choices that I have looked at. I have the OEM 4 piston front, 1 rear. (Grey)

6 piston front (stoptech, 355mm rotors) 1 rear (OEM)

4 front (OEM grey) 4 rear (stoptech, 345mm? I believe.)

4 front (mperformance) 2 rear (mperformance)

I was wondering for the first two, if it would work or not, and if any coding is required for them to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Go with the M Performance BBK. It'll have way more support.

I would suggest either M Performance BBK or AP Racing Radi-CAL BBK (6 pistons front, 4 pistons rear). AP Racing is more expensive but so worth it.

I thought about the m performance brakes but went with the front 6 piston stoptechs and oem rear because the m performance brakes are not a significant enough upgrade from OEM (if an upgrade at all) to be worth the effort and money. M performance brakes look really good though....

By OEM brakes you mean the stock grey 1 pot?

If so, how's the braking under load? I would assume it wouldn't work as the braking power wouldn't make sense due to the piston ratio no?

Retrofitting the M Performance BBK is very price. Fortunately, I factory ordered my car with the M Sport Brake Option which was a $650 option. If I hadn't, I'd be hard pressed to go to any aftermarket BBK.

With that being said, the M Performance brakes are a significant upgrade over the stock grey brakes. The rotors are larger and the calipers are similar to the ones used on the M3/M4. You'll be able to swap pads made for the M3/M4. A factory setup will be tested far more than an aftermarket setup. Since you won't reach the speeds than an M3/M4 would, with proper pads and brake fluid, the M Performance BKK or the M Sport Brakes will be sufficient for track use.

If you find yourself exceeding the limit of that setup, you just need a faster car with a better factory brake system - ie. M3/M4 for CCBs.
