JBSPEED Dual slat kidney grill AND CF high kick spoiler review PIC HEAVY

Hello ya'll,

I recently purchased a 2013 335i XDrive and I wanted to change a few things. Two of which were the kidney grills and put a high kick spoiler on. I went to JBSpeed for both items. I'm going to give a quick review for both items and my experience with the vender.

1st will be the kidney grills. They are one piece and lighter than the OEM grills. They do look really good, the fitment is perfect and it was the easiest aftermarket part I've ever installed on any car. I will say the grills felt cheaper than OEM but do not let that deter you, they've held up in the New England Winter without any issues. I'd recommend these if you're looking to upgrade your grills but aren't looking to spend your life savings. 8/10 quality 10/10 fitment.

2nd will be the carbon fiber high kick spoiler. The product looks amazing, the gloss finish and the weave was perfect with no imperfections. Fitment however wasn't the best. I noticed it was bowed a little bit so I had to fiddle around with it. I had to put a little more work in the middle front part of the lip. It had trouble making contact with the trunk. I managed to make it fit as best I could. I never expect aftermarket non-OEM parts to ever fit perfectly and this is one of those cases. I'm not disappointed with the item overall. JBSpeed will give you more than enough 3M double sided tape so you will not have to go out and get some. 10/10 quality 7/10 fitment.

My experience with JBSpeed as a vender. They are fast with their shipping. I live in the US and they shipped my items internationally and arrived at my doorstep in about 7 business days. Communication was limited mostly because I didn't have any questions to ask. It was just "here is monies, give me parts". I will absolutely do business with JBSpeed again once I figure out what mod to do next. Customer experience 9/10.

The biggest take away I hope you guys will get is the aftermarket fitment thing I mentioned. I never compare OEM fitment to aftermarket fitment. If I did then the rating would be lower. My rating is based on every car part I've ever installed on all my cars.

I've only ever purchased the CF roundels from JBSpeed - & they are great - fit perfect (all though the location bosses on the front roundel that attaches to F32 hood using 3M tape are not in correct place to be used - you must align roundel carefully to be concentric with hood dimple)

They do however, hold up well to weather with no yellowing after a time as with many others

No disrespect, but I have to say the fitment of that rear spoiler with that large bow/gap in the center is disappointing - I would have returned the spoiler.

As you live in an area with winter climate - water is gonna run down thru that gap and 'live' under that spoiler being held back by the tape at front edge. Then that water is gonna freeze & pop that spoiler right off the car. Wind @ speed may even catch under that gap & lift it off One day you'll find it gone, or see it floating down the road behind you

Once you have installed the OEM CF spoiler & see the super tight fitment you would never accept that one.

Sure, the OEM is much more $$, but over the years I have learned you are just better off biting the bullet & going with OEM (at least with body parts or body add-ons) for quality & 110% fitment

You're definitely right my friend. I'm looking into a replacement spoiler already because I can't get it to fit right. I probably will just take the hit and go OEM. It's a lesson learned on my part.
