Recommended Sub Setup?

So I've had my 2008 e92 335i now for over 2 years. I'm much more into performance mods, but I finally just pulled the trigger on wheels and am wanting to upgrade the sound system a bit. I've read every sticky, and link in previous threads, but I'm uneducated with audio and simply asking for links to products. I am not in dire need of more bass, but would gladly welcome it. I have the logic 7 top hifi setup. I realize I would need the techic harness, but am torn on what woofer, box, and amp to purchase. My budget is $500...any ideas? I do not need obnoxious bass, but I am wanting to get more. I am not someone who will be constantly upgrading, I just want something simple to suffice and give more of the "thump." I like the idea of going through the ski-hole, but that looks out my price range. The corner mount is also way too expensive with the enclosure alone $300+. I don't need anything fancy, just tried, true, and reliable. Any links would be greatly appreciated. Longtime lurker, longtime poster on the other performance only forums. Thanks fellas!

If you are willing to wait and buy used you should be able to find a corner-mounted sub enclosure in the classifieds. Also check on the M3 board. That should keep you within budget.

You seem like the perfect candidate for a setup like mine. Sounds amazing, not too loud. Not too much space taken up in the trunk.

You might also want to look into the JL Audio Powered subwoofers. You get a nice all-in-one package.
