Display Key
In order to keep my list price below 40k (and stop handing over money to the Treasury) I had to ditch the display key.
So the question I have is can this be added after delivery or is it only a factory thing? |

Do they have some type of tax in the UK over 40,000 pounds? Well I went through the whole display key debate and I can speak for the US. The display key goes for $650 and with it comes the tailgate access and comfort access. This is something that has to come when you place your order and can not be added after. My CA missed the Display Key package and I inquired from my dealership and they told me once production ends you can't add the display key/ comfort access or have it added once it arrives at the dealership. I would reach out to your Client Advisor to make sure.

Thanks, guess I will have to miss it then. In the UK any car with a price of 40,000 or over pays massively more road tax for the second year of ownership to the fifth year of ownership. Does not matter if its pure electric (i.e. Tesla), if its over 40k its gonna cost much more to tax each year. Nothing to do with emissions but everything to do with getting money out of wealthier people. May as well buy the most inefficient car going, as long as its below 40k the UK Government does not give a stuff. Defies logic.

Encouraging your customer to not spend more than 40 is a smart move? I had to pay a luxury tax. I was cracking up I also heard the incentives for electric cars will soon start phasing out. The feds have yet to release them for this year but each year they keep lowering the incentive. I'm speaking for USA of course.

It should be possible to supply your own plates but I believe that Registration is only Online from Dealer Premises! |
