Is there anyway to remove 155mph governor?

And before anyone asks it's for a track not highway no need for lectures on driver safety ?

I haven't seen any standalone product. Only way would be to Flash the ECU. On the N55 you could remove it within the first 10hours of life with simple coding, but after 10hours it gets locked out.

We just did my friends F30 but his was less then 10 hours old so it worked.

I did my 340i when I first got it as well. No idea if it actually worked as I don't have a place to go 155+.

Whats the coding procedure?
If its the VMAX.. assuming the guys drives it onto the tankers and it takes over a week to get here from SAFR and MUNICH doesnt it mean us American bois will never bypass this lockout of 10 hrs? Sounds like it can only be done within lockout window in the production line..

What's the top speed without the limiter? 155 seems just about good enough for almost any situation except the autobahn. I would imagine at some point with an ECU tune or reflash you can disable the limiter even with the lockout.

130 comes up very fast with a JB4 and Catless downpipe....it's annoying.

I am not sure on stock limit setting, but it may depend on trim level. If you track your car (road course) on a fast track you may run into the limiter, but on North American streets it shouldn't really be an issue.

There are a few values in the DME that need to be coded. It is 10 hours of running time so most brand new cars that haven't been with the dealer for too long should have a chance. You'll know as the coded values will stick if you are in the window. If you are out of the window when you refresh you'll see the changes didn't stick. Search for all of the VMAX entries; as I mentioned I have no way of confirming the coding.

Im not sure if anyone can explain this to me but i hit 160 in my 340i completly stock no mods done. Im not sure if i was going 155 and it said 160 or what but going down the straight away hauling ass with my friends in there Z06 and gtr ( no i could not keep up they hit 200 ish) but my dial said 160 and did not move anymore till i let off the throttle. just curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Yes i know it was reckless but like anyone else in this forum has not reached close to that speed at all. and it was about 20ish miles of straight with slight turns every few miles no cars for the most part and pure darkness. When we did pass cars we of course slowed down.

actually, ive never gotten anywhere close to that speed on public roads, but, i doubt u hit 160, it was prob around 158-159, that value is known to be over-inflated compared to actual speed. For example, my car says 71 mph but gps says im really going 68. your car prob says 159 but ur really doing 155.

Option 840 raises the limiter from 130 to 155 with the high speed rated tires. Needle will show 160, but a GPS unit will read 155.

There is speed correction on the speedometer so unless you have coded that out you weren't getting even a semi-accurate reading. Only accurate way to check speed is via GPS. Either way, unless you removed the limiter when the car was new by coding the DME you weren't doing anything over 155.
