Any good tires with unique tread patterns? Referrals appreciated..

So I'm swapping out my 19" Style 313 RFT's with something else this weekend, just not sure on which UHP tires I should scoop up... I've always had Conti EC's or MPSS's in the past but thought maybe if I could save a few bucks while I'm at it, that'd be twice as nice..

I thought about going with something like the BFGoodrich t/a kdw g-force tires, but I noticed they don't make them in 275/30/19 so there goes that idea.. I did a search on Google and I did see them listed in 265/30/19, but they appear to be "out of stock" everywhere.. So then I looked into the Firehawk Indy 500's because they are offered in the size I want, but jut figured I'd come on here and see if I could perhaps get some recommendations given that it's been a while since I really used anything other than Conti EC or MPSS.. I'm not against the traditional looking tires at all, just figured if I could get something with a bit more curb appeal without sacrificing performance, that'd be pretty cool..

For reference, I'm looking for (F) 235/35/19 & (R) 275/30/19

Thanks in advance..!

Those are pretty bad ass looking brother..! I'm gonna check them out..

I was comparing Tire Rack to DTD, and it seemed like Tire Rack was cheaper, but I imagine the rebates may weigh it out a little differently haha..

Thanks!

Make sure you add the shipping in for TR. Discount ships free. And sign up for Ebates, Google Chrome has a add-on for it. I get 2-6% back depending of the online retailer from a purchase. Discount gets 3% back. It adds up. I get $30-50 deposited into my PayPal acct every qtr by them.

The firehawk indy 500 has a pretty badass tread pattern and seems to have great reviews. Not too expensive either.

Ohhh, touche my friend.. I didn't realize Discount shipped for free, but yeah TR just quoted me like $100 for shipping and after scouring the internet for a free shipping coupon for them, I realized I was searching for a unicorn lol.. That's pretty awesome that you get those discounts too, I'm starting to wonder how often you go through tires though lol..!

Yeah man they are apparently a very well made tire, I like good reviews, but I also look for the bad as well and with them there wasn't many at all, which in turn is good..!

Thanks for all your guys feedback thus far..!

I've contemplated on going with a 265/30/19 because there seems to be a bit more options, but idk.. I'm thinking the difference between 265/30 and 275/30 is very minimal, but again I'm not really a tire guy as I usually only get tires once every few years, which is about when I start doing research on them lol..

I have the same sizes. Here's everything in that size, from cheapest to most expensive:

Sumitomo HTR Z III
Firestone Firehawk Indy 500
Kumho Ecsta PS91
Hankook Ventus V12 evo2
Yokohama S.Drive
Toyo Proxes T1R
Dunlop Direzza DZ102
Pirelli P Zero (OE Audi/Mercedes, not the new PZ4)
Pirelli P Zero Nero GT
Continental ExtremeContact Sport (this is the replacement for the DW)
Michelin Pilot Super Sport
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (this is the replacement for the Super Sport)
Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 R

If you want dirt cheap, the HTR Z III is pretty grippy but also noisy and they tend to go out of round. I had a set several years ago and rebalanced them multiple times.

I would skip the Hankook, Yoko, Toyo, Dunop & Pirelli just because there are better options available cheaper, namely the Indy 500 and PS91. I have the PS91 in these sizes. The Indy 500 is supposedly better for autocross-style driving while the PS91 is better in the wet.

If you want to do better in the wet than the PS91 that's where you need to spend more money, either on the Continental or Michelin.

The Continental is a new tire but probably like the one it replaced will be the comfortable option in the segment. I had a set of Conti DW's after the HTR Z III and the turn-in response is reduced but they are much quieter and more comfortable.

The Michelin PSS are a known quantity, about as good as you can get before going to an autocross-style tire. I'd assume the 4S are an improvement.

If you do want the autocross-style tire you could go with the RE-11 or AD08.

Wow awesome breakdown brother..! I was wondering why the Conti EC's were $70 off individual tires on TR right now.. I guess it's because the stock is not being replenished as the newer Conti's are being released..

I'm going to do some research with this new found information and see what's the best deal price wise..! I live in Southwest Florida so a great wet/dry tire is all I really need.. I don't track it, but the occasional run to Mexico does go down, so grip is def not something I want to sacrifice.. Thanks again man I appreciate the awesome feedback..!

Dude, that Ebates thing is good on all kinds of websites. I bought my F series M brakes off of Ebay and got a 5% rebate which was $50-60 back. I get 10k miles out of tires, 15 months if I stretch it.

Running Indy 500 currently and nothing to complain so far. For the price its great, made in thailand where rubber is produced.
Another tire i almost bought instead of the indys, something to consider, esp for the rear is the federal 595RPM. Probably pretty sticky and looks good. About the same price as the indy. Found all these at a great price, i can provide you link if you like. Altho not sure of the indy since its sold out in most places.

Fuck yea, I use ebates all the time. I used ebates when buying my fiance's engagement ring and got a pretty good amount back.

But even the small $1 or less cashback transactions I do add up over time. It's nice to get a deposit in your paypal account for doing shopping you would've already done.

Well after some back and forth comparisons along with user feedback, I've decided to try out the Firehawk Indy 500's.. I ordered 275/30/19 for the back and 235/35/19 for the front.. I was talking to a guy over on the m3/m4 forum and he was a huge PSS fan until he went with the FI500's, and he said now he'd never go back.. Especially when taking price into account.. But anyways, for less than $700 for all four mounted and balanced, I figured why not give it a shot.. And I used the eBates thing too lol, thanks for the heads up Bill..!
