17 vs 18 inch dilemma

Guys I have a set bmw styling 285 with new dunlops, the rims +tire weights 21.8 kg , tire size 225/45/17. Car drives great, fast, comfortable ( I have msport suspension)

I have bought a set 193m and mounted them,I love the look but they are heavier, car is slower and eats more fuel. Love the looks though.

What would you choose?

Square 225/45/17 or staggered 225/40/18 and 255/35/18

I'd be surprised the differences are that noticeable. What is the actual weight difference? If you're noticing much of a fuel economy difference it is probably due more to the rubber than the actual weight. The 18" wheels look cleaner and suit the car better. That would be my vote as the 17" wheels look too basic and like every other E90 on the road.

Going off those pics, I think the 17s look plenty fine.

Just add some spacers to give them a more aggressive look.

Looks like they're about 5lbs (2.3kg) heavier per wheel, that would certainly be noticeable but they looks of the 193m in gunmetal can't be denied...

Hmm...on second thought, sell both sets and buy some Apex wheels?

Would prob give you the best of both worlds.

Those 18s look really good on that car.

Surprised at the weights though. Are they definitely genuine? 21.8kg sounds pretty heavy.

Both are genuine, the 21.8 kg are the rim+ tire on the 17 inch styling 285.
