Fuel Tank Error?

Hey guys,

Asking this for a friend with a BMW M2. A couple of days ago, he installed his JB4, chargepipe, and downpipe.

However, since he installed the JB4, this code wouldn't clear, and with the JB4 on, at 4th gear near 6000RPM the car makes this weird noise, which at first we thought was the car's exhaust as it sounded like backfire, but with JB4 in Map 0, it wouldn't give anything.

Any idea on how serious this is? The car is brand new with 2000km on the odometer only.

Is the JB4 specifically made for the M2? If not, that might be one reason - the engine is not the same as the N55. Or, just remove the JB4 and see if the code will clear. But as said above, it's new and still under warranty, so the dealership is the best bet. Also, you might want to check the M-series forum for insights.

I'm a bit confused by this as the JB4 product page lists the 2016+ M2 on the N55 page, so it would appear there is no specific M2 JB4:

Depends on what map, firmware and settings your friend was running on the M2.
Can he record the issue?
Tank ventilation error means there's a sensor/plug not pushed all the way, another friend of mine had this and he used Rheingold to trace it.

While the M2's engine is based on the N55, it has different tuning to produce its additional power. If your friend used the wrong map or, as mentioned above, didn't plug something in correctly, he could get the fault code he's seeing.
