I have been trying to finalize my order, adding / deleting / changing options and probably driving the dealer crazy
Finally today I placed the order. It's expected to arrive in July unless I missed the June production as it took me some time to confirm the order. I should hear from the dealer within the next days when exactly it is arriving. Special thanks to E90Fleet for helping me decide on IAS and to all those posting pictures of their cars which made it easier for me to decide on exterior and interior colors and wheels. 540i xDrive M Sport Carbon Black Ivory Dakota w/ contrast stitching , Aluminum Rhombicle, Sensatec Dashboard Heated Sport Seats w/ Memory M Sport Suspension 19" Style 664 IAS Adaptive Full LED + High Beam Assist Sunroof, Parking Assistant, Head-Up Display, Multifunctional Instrument Display Display Key, Ambient Lighting, Soft Close Doors, Power Tailgate, Auto Dimming Mirrors, 4 Zone AC Gesture Control, Connected Drive, Apple Car Play, Harman Kardon, Tinted Rear Windows, Model Designation Deletion M Sport Brakes, M Rear Spoiler And the wait begins...

So no ddc/VDC or multi-contour/comfort seats

No, i am already paying 10.000 EUR more than i planned to, had to make some sacrifices
I did spec comfort seats at first but it ticks some other options i dont need (folding rear seats etc) and costs ~5.500 EUR over sport seats, so crossed off. AD/DDC were not on my list anyway, i wanted to keep the ride height as low as possible - less wheel gap.

It's a great and thought out spec. Carbon black will be great I'm sure.

Lose the 4-zone, display key and apple car play and stick the seats in. Just my thought :-)
Dont you need extended BT to get Apple Car Play as well? You can always add apple car play at a later date via connected drive. That way you can see if you like it and cancel if you don't. |

Thank you ZigmundUK
ajfoggy extended BT and display key are standard. And when you get the Connected Drive, Apple Car Play is a no cost option here. I sat in the sport seats and felt fine. Or i am just trying to justify my order I think my CA would not want to see me for a while, i bothered him too much showing up every other day changing my order I will keep the order as is. Thank you for your advice though.

Plus another £250 for Apple Car Play.. Don't know how they justify charging in one country and not another. Good luck with the wait, not too long I guess. Good colour choice :-) same as mine. Looks cracking when it's clean though it does show the dirt quickly. But that is what you get on a dark colour car, well worth it. |

The options are all priced up and packaged I'm guessing according to some market research that Bmw do across the globe. Certainly won't be arbitrary. Also I think Bmw is set up as a business in any given country right? So they'll want to show max profits across each country so one country can't subsidise others etc...

I should stay out of this, but IAS is something that I have heard FAR less enthusiasm about other than "it seems like I could turn on a dime in a parking lot", or "I think I notice it".... Over time I do not think you will probably remember if you bought it or not, since the normal car should be able to change lanes fairly well You may, however, regret passing on the significant comfort difference of the seats that so many rave about, which would even save you money.

Looks like you spent some time researching and changing your options. Very easy to keep changing and adding (I know from experience). Not sure if you have seen/ used some of the options to help decide? Ultimately you need to need to see what is important to you, must have, nice to have etc and balance with budget. Looking at your spec it looks good. There are some good suggestions here too.

Thank you all for your suggestions , highly appreciated!
I've just tried to find a happy medium - and I am somewhat confident my configuration will not disappoint me Coming from E92 sport seats and many non-luxury company cars in this period , I believe G30 sport seats will just be fine for me. Same goes for M Sport Suspension. While many of my friends find the ride in my 335i with bmw performance suspension harsh, I have no complaints. Concerning IAS i don't have any first hand experience with it. I just have a good feeling it will not disappoint, let's see

The g30 sport seats are great. So coming from an e92, I think you'll be happy.
