ANY modification to the exhaust will void the exhaust warranty if there is an issue with the components down the line. No modification is warranty safe.
Muffler delete will not throw a code. Plenty of youtube videos. |

Buy an aftermarket exhaust. Dinan will match warranty if, by some twisted fate, something went wrong. Thats the best way to add sound. Also, the F30 is pretty quiet inside except for the wind noise

Catbacks are perfectly legal...although a waste of money if you can just replace the muffler imo......

any Exhaust system as long as you don't remove your catalytic converter and pass california 95 db sound test (at the referee station) is legal. As with warranty just the exhaust will be voided. Never heard of an exhaust that blew up an engine or anything else but don't quote me on that.
BTW no one ever bought an exhaust and then went to a california referee station and get certified legal with certificate. your crazy to even try.....lol I did tho with my 240sx HKS hiper exhaust and pass with flying colors at exactly 95 db lol.....referee guys was laughing. that only because I got a fix up ticket |
