Style 193 18" to Style 230 19" 2013 E93 M Sport
Hello, guys, I need your help in identifying something regarding this wheel swap.
I have just purchased a Set of 230's to replace my 193's, my car is 2013 LCI with M Sport Package, and it came from the factory with the 193 Style. The 230's comes with their TPMS mounted on them, and of course, I suppose that my 193's comes with a set too. To give you more details, I want to move away from the Runflats which are on my 193's to non-Runflats on the 230's, I will be buying 4 new tyres. What worries me is the TPMS! Can I swap the wheels and take the 193's TPMS and mount those on the 230? I read on the Tire rack website that BMW has changed the type of the TPMS in vehicles produced after 2010, is this correct? if so then would that mean that I will not be able to take out the sensors from my 193 and mount them on the 230's? One last question, will the sensors from the 230 be recognized by my car? I do not see 230 being offered on the 335i like they did in 2007, back then, you could order your 2007 335i with the 230's. I do not want to buy new set of sensors for the 230's paying about $250 for them, and definitely, won't be liking the idea of either disabling the sensors or running the whole time with lights on my dash. Do you have any recommendations?

You should be able to just move the TPM sensors over.
All sensors will work with any wheel, not all sensors work with your car. Does that make sense? The incompatibility isn't between sensor and wheel, it's between sensor and car (I want to say it's an issue of different radio frequencies?). |

I just hope that the transfer will be trouble-free between the two wheels, i.e won't break or something. Thanks again for your valuable input. I will update the thread after the installation and will have before and after photos too. -Will
