335d Remap (with handheld unit)

Hi,

I'm after re-mapping my 335d but I want a handheld device so I can remove when I want to.

I see evolve do one as do bluefin, are there any others out there? Which would people recommend? I'm not bothered about the highest power but something reliable and engine/gearbox safe.

Thanks in advance!

Bluefin are good. But, you have a 335d! I'd go for a proper custom remap with that car. Most remap companies off a free re remap when software is updated by the dealer.

Thanks for the reply.

I wanted the device to be able to remove prior to any dealer visits.

What is better in regards to a custom map over like likes of evolve and bluefin?

If you get a generic handheld device (Alientech Powergate S or Evolve Switch etc) they're all the same bar a different sticker on the front!

Then you can purchase map 'files' and download them to the car yourself. The beauty of this is you can revert back to stock map in 5 mins and also you can choose which mapper to use for the file etc...

Pay about £100 for a file iirc, so if you can pick up the reader cheap this is a good option.

Also, if you get the 'Master' version of the unit, then you can use it on your next car etc. The Slave versions are tied to one car I believe (like the bluefin).

Evolve do proper tuning and testing of their maps, and are a BMW/M car specialist. Bluefin seems to be a bit more general fit as many vehicles as possible solution.
