Can I disconnect and reconnect the existing battery without reprogramming?

Hi,

Like the title says => Can I disconnect the existing battery and put it back without reprogramming/reseting?

I already searched the forum but didn't find an exact answer to my question.
The closest answer I found was in this thread on an E90 forum. But since mine is an F31, I decided to ask the question again.

I have little to no experience with AGM batteries. But my guess is that it isn't necessary to reprogram after putting back the existing battery. The alternator can work under the same power management as it did before. But maybe someone has a different theory about this...

Cars tend to have more and more electronics with every model change, so I become more cautious when I have to unplug the battery to fix something.

Yes. Only when changing batteries, does BMW state the new battery needs to be registered. Apparently that is to match the new battery with the electrical load of the car and to let the ECU and other computers know that a fresh battery is present- or so I'm told.
