Bigger / Meaty Tires on 189 Style Wheels for 335i Coupe
The time has come to replace my RFT on my 07 335i coupe. Car has 18" 189 style wheels. I am looking to upgrade the wheels to a meatier looking tire when I replace them. I am also entertaining lowering, and spacing the car with the STOCK wheels.
Looking to see some pictures with tire sizes that guys are running on the stock 189 style wheels. thanks! |

I actually just put on a set of staggered 189s on my pre-LCI E90. They are running just the stock tire sizes (225/40/18 and 255/32/18). I live in Vermont with some pretty rough roads, and the tires have pretty of rubber to soak up any pot holes.
I don't have a pic of the car, but I imagine they would look just like yours presently. I also want to drop the car slightly and maybe push the wheels out with spacers just to flush everything up. You can get bigger on the wheels, but I'd expect the ride to soften if the sidewalls aren't super stiff. If you haven't reviewed, I use this thread all the time to check for staggered wheel sizing (assuming you are XI or xDrive): http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1050762 |
