Intro and Pictures....Finally

Hey All. Decided it's been too long that I've been active on here without formally introducing myself and my car.

After a long six month search, and a few vehicles sold out from under me, my excellent 335d finally came home It's a 2011 335d w/ 61,700 miles. Vermilion Red Metallic on Saddle Brown Leather. Sport Package, Cold Weather Package, Comfort Access, Nav, Harman Kardon Surround, Paddle Shifters, Adaptive Headlights, blah blah blah. You get the idea.

Currently in the process of deciding on which exhaust setup to go with. Already decided (long ago) which tuner I'm going with. Acquiring other parts such as EGR block off plate, etc... for the full delete in the next month or so. Will of course post a thread when I do all that.

I come from a big car family. Specifically, a big BMW family, and the roots go deep. I learned to drive on a 1969 2002 when I was about 11. Been AutoCross and racing since about 15, and continue to this day, albeit a lot less frequently due to current time constraints. Was active on BimmerPost, BimmerWerkz, and all the other various Bimmer forums over 10 years ago. However, I haven't owned a BMW as my daily driver for 9 years So when I decided to buy my next car, I knew it had to be a BMW, and it had to be a real BMW (i.e. inline 6 cylinder ) So after research and consideration, I decided the 335d was right for me.

Below is the result. Please keep in mind that none of these were a "photoshoot" and were mostly just spur of the moment pictures I've taken of the car. In the next month I will fully detail it and take it to a nice locale for a shoot.

This color really changes depending on the light source.

Chilling with my old DD (Volvo) and one of our fun cars (E46 M3 DINAN S3-R Supercharged - 31k miles)

Next to one of my brothers' F30 M Sport.

Finish it off with the only shot of the rear that I have for some reason.

I love this car more and more every day. When I'm not driving it, I'm thinking about driving it or modding it. The sickness has already taken hold of me. BMW was in my blood. Now diesel is too!

Very nice ride! Like all BMWs, maintenance is key; especially the preventative kind. Look forward to the post detail pics.

OP - Nice!! I travel down to FL several times a year. I'll reach out when I'm heading down that way.

I'll extend the same courtesy as well if you're my way for any particular reason (tune perhaps)...

Anyway - welcome to the family!

Cool. What part of Florida do you usually travel to? It'd be cool to get together. Always fun to meet other members/BMW enthusiasts in person.

What part of the country do you live in? I'm actually taking a road trip in June. Florida >>> Pennsylvania >>> Colorado >>> Florida (with stops in-between). Probably not bringing the 335d on the road trip though as I don't want to put all those miles and wear/tear on it so soon after getting it. I think I'll wait to sell my Volvo after I've used it for the trip.

Sarasota - have family and property there.

I'm in NC - 80 miles due West of BPC

Love the color combination on the D.

I used to own an S3-R. Fun car especially with increased boost and a custom tune!

Nice. Somewhere in the Winston-Salem area? I've been to NC quite a few times on vacation and business. Very few drives in the world as satisfying as the BRP in Fall.

BTW, BPC is who I decided to get my tune from. Ultimately, I would love to take it up to them to have everything done at once, there at their location, by them. That'll be a ~2000 mile round trip depending which routes I take, so If I go that route, it'll probably be two months or so.

Yes - WS/Greensboro area. I moved here from Asheville about 4 years ago - lived in Western NC almost all of my life.

Definitely let me know if/when you are this way - I can offer advise on some AMAZING food/beverage places...

Thank You!

This is just the softcore stuff though. All the hardcore stuff is in that garage to the left in those pictures.

Correct. He's got JB4, AWE Exhaust, AWE CAI, Wagner 3" DP, Upgraded boost piping, etc...

It's a really fun car to drive. We haven't raced yet, but he would definitely beat my car as is (stock). We'll see what the difference is between my car stock and after I do the deletes and tune.

That's what I was thinking. And he's one to take it kind of hard.

Fortunately, as of late he has been considering whether to upgrade to a 335i, 340i, or even possibly a M3. That would make it fair I think.

Tuned 335d should handle a stock 335i with ease. Unsure about an M3 or 340i.

I have a S/C'd E93 M3 - and my 335d is VERY close to hurting her feelings. The visceral experience of the E9X M3 is otherworldly though. Blower kit with a race X-Pipe

My 335d will crush the hopes and dreams of most american muscle, as well as many modded E9X and F8X M cars.

I've run Turbo'd and S/C Audi's, AMG's, SRT8's and Coyote Mustangs on Nitrous, Single swapped Big turbo N54 335i's, Turbo'd K series Honda's making 400+ with gutted interiors....handled most with relative ease. A buddy's Twin Turbo Coyote pulled me a few nights ago. He is making close to 650 whp though. And I had a 250 lb camera passenger...

Damn. That's excellent. I'd be perfectly content in that range of power. At least for a while.

What is your current setup?

My goal is full 3" turbo-back, BPC Stage 2+, Methanol, XHP Software, and Iaknown CAI.

How has the Wavetrac worked our for you? And the blow off valve? Only needed when you upgrade the turbos?
