I have bought my 2013 F30 335xi 3 months ago and a couple of months ago I started noticing this whistle coming from behind the dash.

It happens at completely random times (I'd say once a day sometimes more), in all driving modes. It also happens whether I have my foot on the breaks, the gas or I am stopped.

I am taking my car in on Wednesday to my local dealership but I was hoping someone here would be able to tell me what this is.

It does not sounds mechanical at all and comes from behind the dash by the radio.
