Brake Fluid Flush
Hello!
---DIY alert --- In the process of prepping my car for some track duty, I wanted to flush the stock brake fluid and replace it with Motul RBF 600. A couple of noob questions: - How much brake fluid do I need to a do a full flush? I was planning to get 2 liters. Would that be an overkill? - What's the color of stock brake fluid? This is to check if I have emptied the master cylinder and the new fluid is coming through. |

Take a turkey baster and remove all the old fluid from the master cylinder. Fill master cylinder with new fluid.
Go to, typically, the brake furthest from the master cylinder and start pumping. I use an air powered one man bleed or you can get an assistant to help. Keep going until the master cylinder is about half empty. It's not an exact science but will be a good start. Do the same for the others and see how you get on. Drive it for like a 1000 miles or one track day and then flush it through again. Same process and you'll good after that. As long as both fluids are the same viscosity i.e. DOT4 then is it does not matter if they mix. The race fluid has a higher boiling point so worst case you might find a little fad on your track day but it will be better than stock.i |

If you really want to get all mathematical and 'do science' then you measure each of the brake line lengths and using the pipes internal diameter calculate the amount of fluid each line holds. Then pump that much through + 10%
