Zimmerman versus BMW

Its time for new new pads and rotors on the rear of my 335xi. stock rotors lasted 98k, which is pretty impressive but they cost nearly twice Zimmerman or melye replacements. anyone have a sense of how Zimmerman compares to stock BMW in an area that uses plenty of salt in the winter..?

I've used Zimmerman for years. I love them.

I just replaced my pads and rotors all the way around with Zimmermann rotors and Posi-Quiet semi-metallic pads. The rotors are excellent for the price and I like the pads much more than OEM. I got the rotors from FCPeuro and the pads from RockAuto. I believe I paid $315 total for everything.

$600?

Nope it was about $315 for all four corners. You would be looking at about half that for just the rears.

ATE makes all the OEM brake parts. Zimmerman, Brembo, Balo and Mayle are just as good. I can check prices with the local shop on Zimmerman and Mayle and if price is right you can go and pick them up. Let me know.

I was suggesting had you paid the dealer you'd spend $1000. Since you DIY, you've got at least $600 for upgrades because you saved by it paying labor.. my wife doesn't complain too much once I explain how much I "save" by doing my own work....?

Thanks for the offer! I've got some credit from a return, which should cover rotors; already picked-up the akebono euro pads as an experiment. My guess is that since this car is not tracked, I won't notice any difference but for less dust....
