Front Sway Bar Hitting Lower Control Arm

Just installed bc coils on my 07 E90 335i and lowered it a pretty significant amount. Disconnected both end links so I could order some custom length adjustable end links and I noticed this. This can't be normal?
The measured length from the sway bar bolt hole to the strut mount tab was around 13.5" Not sure if I should order 13" end links to pull the sway bar up.
Looking forward to any input thanks.

So you completely disconnected the sway bar and you're concerned its hitting the control arm? It's hitting the arm because its disconnected and has rotated in the mounting bushings, this is normal. Just install a single sway bar link to hold the sway bar in place and this won't happen.

+1

The sway bar can rotate once disconnected.

As far as measurements, they should be taken with the weight of the car, loaded.

Adjustable end links would be ideal so you can dial it in as needed.

I assumed it rotated but I wasn't 100% sure. I haven't gotten underneath good enough to see if itll rotate back. I had it on some shallow ramps enough for me to get a measuring tape and measure sway bar to strut tab legth with the car loaded but Now I guess this measurements is Invalid since the sway bar rotated.

Yeah it may fight you as its held in place with a rubber bushing but I assure you it can rotate.
