06 330i - Can't chirp second. Tuneup advice please.

I have a 2006 330I. N52 motor with the fancy manifold everyone talks about.
Sometimes the car misfires and so I think it may need coils, but it runs fine most of the time.

167,000 KM (about 100K Miles)
Brand new NGK plugs
Freshly cleaned K&N
Charcoal delete
Dinan Exhaust
Ran seafoam before plug change
Ran many bottles of injector cleaner from dealership
Did a two stage oil flush with dealership special fluids which decarbonize
Checked eccentric shaft sensor and changed gasket on it. There was no oil.
Checked top DISA , no play. Not sure how to reach bottom DISA easily.
Cleaned VANOS solenoid, they look fine but no way to tell.

Sometimes it shows a misfire on cylinder 5 if going WOT at low RPMs. Most of the time nothing. Was very misfirey and shakey for a few KM after being stored for 2 months... then it went away.

Any tips are welcome.

Can't chirp second ever, and it constantly feels underpowered. My other car is an e92 m3 so I'm not sure if I'm crazy or not. My old e46 ZHP would chirp second on every shift even at 307,000KM

Bought car used 6 months ago, don't know history of coils. I assume they haven't been changed.

Not sure if you are trolling or not.

Other with cold tires, you will not be able to break the rear end loose, esp with failing coil.

Don't know what you are expecting from 210whp on a good day?

I'm not trolling and I just added INPA screenshots.
Generally the motor feels underpowered and this was the only metric I could think of to reliably benchmark it. (on the web, for free)

I'm running an old (almost bald,) set of DWS all seasons. Not Pilot Sport Cups lol... it should break loose no problem.

Swap the misfiring coil and see if the problem shifts cylinders. I'd just buy 6 new ones.

Test your coils with a ohm meter to see if there within spec before buying, swap with number 1, add some high octane gas, you may have moisture from sitting. Sometimes when moving a coil over to the next, may give a false reading, jump it to the furthest away to eliminate it.

A CDV will make the clutch engage slower, so its less likely to "chirp" into gear.

And besides, if you're not chirping 3rd like in a Sentra Spec-V, its not worth your time.

Just replace the offending coil(s) and move on. The error codes are pretty clear.

I'm surprised nobody has asked this, what kind of tires are on the cars in question?

I had a thread the other day about buying a set of tires to replace my Bridgestone RE-11. I won't go into unnecessary levels of detail, but the treadwear rating is 200, meaning they are soft and gummy. If you're running a comparable summer performance tire, correctly inflated and properly warmed up, you will have a hell of a time "chirping" the tires in any gear with 255 hp at the crank and a bad coil.

He answered it. DWS are sticky, but not as sticky. He is down on power due to failing coil (s) and whatever else. He didn't mention transmission- auto or manual.

Make sure the DISA valves are working correctly. The flap is slipped onto a plastic shaft with a hex shaped base to lock the flap in place. It's very common for the hex base of the flap to wear away and render the flap inoperable. There are no codes thrown since the motor is still operational.

You'll have to remove the manifold to access the inner DISA but the outer can be pulled by just removing the airbox.

EDIT: Whoops I see you already checked

maybe the clutch doesn't hold that well anymore and slips a little bit, that's pretty much the only occasion I wasn't able to chirp into second in any manual car I've owned

I'm thinking the second DISA is broken but I haven't found the INPA program that makes them tick. If it is broken, it should make a different sound from the top one which appears to be in good condition.

I've ordered Coils so let's see.

If your misfiring,,you won't be chirping anything. That should be your priority to get iher up and running.
