Fcp Euro Fantasy (?) Warranty.

Pull up FCP EURO'S site. They have introduced a lifetime warranty on all parts,
and, are you ready, consumables! That's right, oil, brake pads, windshield wipers, tires, etc. Think about it...you buy a variety of consumable parts and expect to pay for replacement when they go kaput. FCP EURO sez just send them back and we will replace them with free parts!

If you believe that there no such thing as a free lunch, then FCP EURO must be smokin' something in their board room. However, this is a free enterprise country based on competition. Read the fine print and decide if you may consider purchasing everything you need from them.

Good luck!!

I've bought several things from them strictly because of their lifetime replacement. I was skeptical in the beginingand called giving a bunch of what if scenarios. I did not know they price match. they're typically not the cheapest, nor most expensive, but I was okay with that due to the lifetime.

there have been hiccups with wrong parts and shipping, shipping was UPS error and I'll never use them again, but fcp was very easy to work with and responsive when wrong parts were received. (having a diesel complicates some part buying experiences)

Anyways, after the minor problems that were corrected quickly, they maintain my business and I highly recommend them.

Have you considered maybe they ran the numbers and can make it work with their pricing scheme, as well as the nature of the car market? It's not a very far fetched business model if you apply some statistical modeling...

They've been doing this for years now.

I've ordered a bunch of parts from them last year. It was mostly a bunch of small items, but I needed front shocks too. Every item except the shocks was already cheap, but I found the shocks for $40 cheaper on another site. I emailed FCP and they instantly offered to match the price.

So maybe it's just me, but if I bought a wearable item and used it for years (brakes, wipers, tires, etc), I wouldn't try to exploit their warranty. Now if it were some catastrophic part failure, I'd reach out for a replacement but that's it.

Between their price matching & customer service, I'd feel like I'm taking advantage of them trying to get lifetime wipers for $30 or something like that.

^+1 I would never exploit their warranty for wear items, but it's nice to know that everything is covered for life if there was a defect/failure.

While i also wouldn't really feel comfortable returning wear and tear item like pads or wipers for a refund, I wouldn't really call it 'exploiting'. They openly advertise things like buying one oil change kit and never having to pay for oil changes again.

Because they know most people don't own a vehicle long enough for the replacement part to fail, I don't believe the warranty is transferable. But I try and buy from them as they are local, price match, and the warranty is the tits.

You understand that lifetime does not refer to your lifetime, but to the rated lifetime of the part. That is, a tire is rated 30k miles, you may receive a coupon on purchase of a replacement prorated to the stated lifetime if it wears earlier than that, for example.

They've been doing this for years now.
It makes sense because of the average length of the average car's ownership. Most people don't keep most cars for 20 years. The cost to them should be trivial.

Bilstein claims a lifetime warranty, but apparently the end of the lifetime occurs when the part dies. That is, I had a Bilstein strut collapse because of rust and they refused to honor the warranty. (I even kept the receipts so they couldn't weasel out of it because of that.)

Of course I'll never buy another Bilstein product, so this may be penny wise on their part.... Incidentally, their strut lasted about twice as long as the original equipment strut -- my annoyance is entirely that they failed to honor their warranty.

But my point is that it's not difficult to make a mess of this. to FCP if their policy is still in force when the claims are made in a few years.

I just bought a bosch ZF steering rack from FCP last week and had it installed a few days ago. They had the exact type of rack I needed and they were the cheapest I could find anywhere online. What made me decide to purchase from them is the lifetime warranty that they have on all of their parts. Sure does make me feel better too as this was a costly repair. Really can't beat that and no other place I've found that sells quality bmw parts will have a lifetime warranty.

Not wear and tear parts, that's the difference with FCP. I don't know of any other place you can send your used oil and filter in and get a replacement free of charge.

Using that as an example, let's say you keep your car 5 years and do 3 oil changes a year yourself at a cost of $80 per. Using FCP, your total cost over that 5 year period is $80, any other avenue will cost you an additional $1,120...

Depending on where you are in the country, you have to consider it's gonna cost more to ship them the used oil back like they ask for rather than just buy new oil and a filter.

Not sure it would really ever cost 70 plus dollars to ship it but yes, that does factor in.. I would say $20 maybe. I just had them price match a valve cover the other day. Saved 38 bucks and put 26 back in to get two day shipping! Bought front brakes a few weeks ago too. Both were bought with this warranty in mind. I love it! Thanks FCP for taking care of us hard working guys who diy! Absolutely can't stand the thought of somebody else working on my car.

I wouldn't dream of taking them up on the cheap consumables like oil and pads but I have used them for hpfp and valve cover, and they price matched. And I'm banking on their warranty for this hpfp with the well known BMW reliability
