Baton down the hatches!!

It's that time of the f****** year when my area gets invaded by a load of 'pseudo hippy festival goers'. In reality, a load of estate agents, PR and marketing types and 'hipster' twats in Vee Dub T4/T5s from Basildon, Swindon and other mediocre places. All trying to be 'there' for what they imagine to be some Woodstock-eque historical event but in reality, its nothing more than a huge corporate commercial rip off with 99% of the acts having less talent than the entire Labour front bench.

Yes, Glastonbury Festival. (In reality, Glastonbury is 6 miles away and it should be called the 'Pilton Festival')

I will be decamping to my underground nuclear bunker for the next week as the great unwashed trash the place. From early next week, the roads will be littered with caravans and mobile homes parked up on the side of the road for miles around as they wait to be allowed in to the site (ffs, they must know they cant get in until the designated day but still tip up a couple of days before and clog the f****** roads up!).

Thank fuck they poke off to Longleat next year!

(To be fair, I can listen to the whole festival from the luxury of my house without having to mix with the grotty plebs. Gets a bit boring at 03:00 in the morning though...)

Pic taken today of the site (from 4000'). White line indicates the boundary where the 20' wall is being built around the whole place).

NIMBY rant over!

I would prefer to set up an FSG on the hill and pick them off to be honest.

I feel for you I am just along the road from the V Festival, utter bollox and blocks A41, M54, A5 and to a point the M6 (towards M54 junction).

Luckily it is not as long as the shit you have down there.

I will be working boomtown again this year. I worked it last year and madness was the headline act who were really good, and 99% of the clientele were really nice, which is unusual.

If I lived close to it though it would seriously boil my piss I think and I would end up moving away for the duration.

The joys of living in that part of the world.

That's far too close to home!

Lion's seem to be getting enough bad press lately. Lets see what left of the camper brigade once they have gone through the monkey enclosure...

Know how you feel OP I live at a famous blue flag beach on south coast with a 9 mile road down from the nearest A road, and it quest every day in summer nose to tail for those 9 miles! Makes locals lives a night mare. Luckily we know the way around.

It amazes me people will drive 2 hours from London, sit in a 9 mile que for a further 2 hours to spend about 4 hours on the beach to do it all again on the way home.....

Guess we really are lucky with where we live!
