misfire after valve gasket replacement
After replacing valve cover gasket, car was misfiring on cylinder 4. When I moved coils around, misfire went away, but came back again with codes showing misfire again on cylinder 4.
Codes show following: 29D0 2E1B Everything appears correctly connected. I checked fuel line and it looks fine. Checked coil, and it looks seated properly. I did not mess with plugs during replacement, so that shouldn't be it. I got a new coil, for just in case my coils are bad, but I highly doubt it. Any suggestions? |

I am about to do that now.
The weird thing is that there is no misfire until engine warms up. Once it's warm it starts misfiring. The other thing: Valvetronic motor is almost sitting on coils 3&4 - it's touching them. Would it be possible that I installed Valvetronic motor gasket the wrong way - upside down? IIRC, I installed the new gasket in the same way the old one was, but it does seem this one is sitting lower. There are no issues with throttle or Valvetronic motor (no errors). Everything is running fine until misfire happens. |

Found the issue.
One of the wires that goes into the coil was not seated properly, so it was losing connection and causing misfire. I checked plugs and valvetronic motor and everything was good to go. I still replaced the coil as it had a better clip on it. Happy to report that car is running as good as ever. That is as of now. Hopefully it stays that way |
