How to improve sound quality E91

Hi,

First post.

I've looked around and still can't find the answers to my questions.

A little back story...

I was looking for a manual low mileage 335i E91 LCI for ages. Everyone that came up for sale sold before I could see them, one even sold whilst I was driving half way across the country to see it.
I decided to compromise and go for a lowish (60k) 335d E91. I'm really happy with and was surprised how much I enjoyed the auto box but the stereo is seriously lacking any kind of sound quality.

It's got a CCC professional system and I'd probably like to keep it looking as standard as possible- are there any plug in upgrades (subs/speakers) that'll transform the sound quality?

I did some research and think it's an old member's car:
(this was the car in 2007, it's got MV3s now and blacked out front grille)

Hi,

Take a look at this thread, it covers a lot of ground in working out what you have already and where you want to go.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323

I went in a custom-fit direction and had AudioFile at Bishops Stortford do a fit on my e90.

Yes, more expensive than a diy, but superb fit, looks totally stock and sounds great.

Good luck

Thanks.

I imagine I'll probably go down the same route as you.

If you're after proper sound quality I'd avoid Audiofile. Before my current install, I had them install their system 3 plus in my car. Cant fault the workmanship, first class. But when it comes to tuning, they don't have a clue. My car actually sounded worse than when it went in.

I'd highly recommend Studio in Car down near the south coast or Platinum In Car near Coventry, both guys have won multiple awards when it comes to car audio and know their stuff and can give you anything from a system on a budget to a full blown award winning SQ car.
