You probably will have to change the shocks as well because the springs are shorter.

I would not recommend it. Standard suspension on xDrive models uses softer shocks and stiffer springs (assuming the fit is OK) and softer shocks is not a good combination. It's best to do things right or not do them at all. KW Street Comfort coilovers are an excellent choice to consider for xDrive vehicles.

Actually, probably not really needed. Why do you think the shocks are shorter...they aren't a fixed length and going lower but stiffer you will not likely see any more extreme suspension compression. If anything, shorter bump stops may be a good idea.

He was saying the sport springs are shorter (and have a higher spring rate) than the xdrive springs. Thus, your stock shocks will have less travel to work with and may wear faster.

I have a 440i xDrive Convertible with Adaptive. I just ordered and received H&R Sport Springs for it and they came with shorter front bump stops. They don't show up for my car on the H&R US website but I stumbled accross them on German Ebay and found out H&R, for whatever reason, only sells them outside the US.. With a little work I got a set shipped from Germany. They will drop front and rear 1". Won't have time to install for a few weeks but stay tuned. Not sure if they have them for other xDrive body styles.

I was going to use Convertible RWD M Sport springs but could never find a reasonable used set.

I was under the impression that the front shock/spring suspension was different on xdrives in order to make room for the front driveshafts.

I did this on my 2013 335 XDrive 6MT.
Yes I retained stock shocks and the drop is 3/4" which doesn't sound like much but it all but eliminates the roll and firms up the ride 10-15%
Can the OEM shocks handle the M Sport springs. Answer is yes. The ride is still soft and still a touch bouncy but it is FAR better than stock which is very bouncy and feels unstable at anything over 60.
Got a set of springs from a 2WD M Sport car for $200.
