Getting the 'new' feeling back

Hi all,

I'm looking for some thoughts on where to go next with the old girl in order to both return the 'new' feeling the car would have had back in '07, and to have it handling better than stock - say 20 - 30% better in terms of cornering stability, 'planted' feeling and grip. I'm unsure about upgrading sway bars - so many conflicting opinions on mechanical grip, relationship with LSD type etc that I can't be sure the end result would be positive.

In the last few thousand miles I've had the following installed:

Bilstein B12 kit with mounting hardware
M3 front control arms
OE Tie rod assemblies
Four wheel alignment
New engine and manual transmission mounts
19x9 and 19x10 AG M359 with Pilot Sport 4S in 235/35 and 265/30

The tie rods really made a difference - more so than the M3 arms to be honest, though they too helped sharpen things up a little.

I'm booking the car in shortly to have front and rear sway bar end links replaced to cancel out any slop that might be present due to mileage too.

Beyond the sway bar end links, I'm guessing I might just be left with rear subframe inserts? Is there anything I should be prioritising once the end links are replaced?

Cheers

Thanks However I just had brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S fitted and a four wheel alignment done. I'm really looking more for the mechanical improvements that are possible / will have the greatest impact.

Cheers man. Definitely looks like rear subframe mounts will be required to get rid of that back end wobble. Luckily did the rear shock mounts when I did the B12 install.

If your shocks are adjustable you could get a corner balance while sitting in the driver seat. That would sharpen the weight distribution etc.

Adjustable rear toe arms by Megan Racing or Manzo should be next. But you'll need another alignment.

Did you use the solid rubber Monroe upper shock mounts? Those are a good bang for the buck, along with rear subframe inserts
