F46 coding and cheat sheet

I want to make some changes to my wife's F46 but I'm cautious about plugging in e-sys before I have some tested and confirm guides on the topic.

I've done quite a bit of coding on my F31 but I need to be sure I have the correct software and I connect in the correct way.

Can anyone provide a guide on this? I know the F46 isn't a car of choice for my US counterparts, but it's a very popular car in Europe so I think it would be very helpful for many of us!

Same software is used for all Fxx-/Ixx-/Gxx-series BMW's.
