Running WI without Meth

I just ordered a VRSF chargepipe and feel compelled to take advantage of the entries for water/meth injectors.

I don't want to run meth. Firstly I have no way to control it properly and secondly, regardless of how many people run it, I don't like the idea of the meth staying on in a fuel cut situation causing an ultra lean condition and destroying pistons.

I do, however, like the idea of running just water injection but am wondering if there is really any significant gain to be had. I'm really looking at it from a safety point of view, and with the intention of lowering charge temps slightly. I would be running from a pressure switch but would don't know what pressure to set it at either.

Does anybody do this, or are you guys just hardcore meth addicts?

Water is fine but still not without risks.

What happens if you empty the tank into the intake in an uncontrolled manner?

this is true, but surely quite unlikely. The pump contact/relay/switch would need to stick when the engine was off to make it dangerous surely?

Although anything is possible, an issue like that is very extreme and rare.

That being said, if you want to spray just water, it does have benefits, even a splash of methanol would help, IE 10-20% methanol.

If you do plan on spraying water, spray using a small nozzle. I'd recommend an M2 nozzle to be safe.

A simple boost activated switch and universal kit is all you need. Have it spray at 10 PSI.

Any other questions, let me know.

Thanks Jeff.

If I added say 10-20% meth, would it still be possible to have the lean condition I mentioned on fuel cut, or would there not be enough meth to ignite?

Could I still use it with a simple pressure switch in this case? And would it require mapping in?

Methanol adds fuel. Yes a simple pressure switch 7-10 psi is what most people use.
