New color poll
Ok, my e90 needs to be repainted. It's silver now. I want blue. I've narrowed it down to two colors. The choices are below. Please let me know what you all think would be a better color on my car (Going to have black roof and leave CF hood and trunk lid unpainted.) The Ferrari Blue or Lotus "Laser Blue"

Why does your car need to be repainted?
I prefer the Ferrari blue. Why do you want blue if you got silver? Any idea what a full paint job is going to cost? Please post pics when finished or even mid.job I want to see the black roof and CF hood and trunk lid unpainted |

Ferrari Blue- Tour De France Blue reminds me of a lighter shade of Monoco Blue offered on the 3 sereis.
Why not just paint it Monoco blue and stay OEM?

^^ Cause I don;t want it to look factory. A friend of mine owns a bodyshop so I got the hook up. It's going to cost about $3500-$4000 do do everything including the jambs. I'm going tonight or tomorrow morning to look at paint chips but I think the Ferrari color or something close is what I'll end up getting.

ferrari blue is too plain. Looks like the Deep sea blue on the 5 a little.

So I'm at work last Saturday night and I get a call from my wife. It's approx. 0130. She asked me if it was me at the door and I told her "no" that I was at work writing up reports. She said someone is trying to get it the house. I told her to call the local police and I would come out if they didn't respond fast enough. So she called them, they came out and didn't find anything. 0600: My wife calls back. The person is back. She called Goodyear PD and they came out. They found the guy this time.....passed out drunk in front of my front door. They took him to the hospital and I'm not sure what happened next. I came home from work a day or two later and my whole car is messed up. Paint stripped and keyed it 3 places. I'm like 99% sure it was him. But no proof. Not very interesting so I didn't want to waste everyone's time explaining the details but there you go since people keep asking.

Ok, I started looking at colors yesterday and that just made it harder. I'm going with a regular old gloss black roof but there are so many shades of metallic blue to pick from. I'm not going with either color from my poll. Hopefully I will get the exact color picked out tomorrow. I got an estimate to repaint from 2 shops and both quoted about $4500 for complete repainting. Does that sound way to low for repainting the entire car to anyone else? I'm taking it to my freind's shop so it's only going to cost $3500 but the estimates just seem a lot lower than I would have thought.

That's a big negative. I'm leaving all carbon fiber (hood and trunk) exposed I hate the look of partially painted cf.

just repaint it oem silver, otherwise the resale value will go down. BUT if you dont care I say Ferrari Blue is 100% individual and sick.

Not worried about resale. This ones a keeper. Eventually I plan on doing a drivetrain swap.
I considered Laguna Secca blue for about 10 seconds. It looks great on the e46 but I don't think it would look good on an e90. I want something darker. I'll try to post up a color chip later today after I make the final decision.

Ok. The choice is made. I'm going with Lamborghini Murcielago Blue from BASF. I think it would look great on an e90. I just need to get nicer wheels or get mine powdercoated or something. (credit where due: pic below from iForged car hope they don't mind)
