MOTIV Single Turbo Manifold Knockoff??

Looks like someone is knocking off MOTIV's manifold now:

Ebay Knockoff

EDIT: Motiv can repay me for pointing this out by prioritizing their work on FlexFuel hahahaha

Yea, looking at it in more detail it isn't a knockoff of MOTIV...way shittier design. And it's made by JP.....so that explains it.

The fact he does not offer a kit built around this manifold leads me to believe it's literally worthless.

JPworkz in general is worthless. Guy doesn't even know how to run an efficient business nor knows what the word "communication" means. Along side that his manifolds are rather poor in design for where the WG flanges sit.

Oh I agree. Shame as if he did a few small things right he could get a ton more business which in turn would make the 'good' ST kits come down in price, in theory. There is also the whole thing about him possibly being a scammer from before.

For the record there is nothing wrong with a log style top or bottom mount manifold given the power levels most N54s see. I would love to see a cast log style top mount kit.

I have one of his kits, honestly had no major issue with the kit itself, other that one of the dumptubes super tight fit and turbo blanket just cheap also some missing parts but he made it right. I guess I was lucky.

There's clearly a customer service issue, but it also sounds like quality control is another flaw. Like Torgus mentioned, there's lots of money to be made for the vendor who sells a decent, lower-priced turbo kit.

You guys are crazy there are alot of jp kits out there running strong i for one have one along with a few friends customer service can use help but the kits themselves are great.

As for this manifold idk what it is with bimmer guys thinking they know it all but log style manifolds have been out in the turbo scene for years! They work fine not idea for high hp applications but for 500-600whp it will work fine.

Dude, you are totally right. Log style manifolds are perfect for 5-600whp. What are we thinking. We can save some more money and heartache by ditching our fuel injection too and going to a carburetor as they have been proven to work for decades at 5-600whp too.

And you know, there's never been anyone (not anyone) who has had a JP kit that didn't fit and had to be shipped back. And after a few years of producing his kits it isn't like one shipped out two months ago didn't have major fitment issues either. Totally doesn't happen.

And speaking of shipping. it isn't like people haven't fronted this guy tens of thousands of dollars over the course of a couple years and he has had problems with shipping his kits. Not at all. His kits go out in an extremely timely manner and nobody has ever had to stop payment or get 3rd party arbitrators involved.

And one more thing, he's never had a single problem with customer service or communication one...he's top notch there.

You've talked me into it! I'm going to buy a JP Kit.

JP's manifold design went through 3 different stages. The first one when he was first making them was horrible. Wastegate/O2 bungs were all very, very close to each other. I never understood why he didnt just put the WG mounts on the bottom of the manifold like how DOC race does it. You couldn't even get all the studs/nuts installed on the head to bolt it down in all areas because of the horrible clearance from the pipes to the face plate. Then theres the issue with the O2 dumps hitting the frame or not even fitting because its too close to the frame.

With my kit I had a 1.5/2.0 manifold. It was a bit better, but still had bad clearance and fitment. I was sent the downpipe and o2 dumps completely unfinished (why he even sent them, I don't know). I asked a few times for it to be completed and fixed if I shipped it back, but never got a straight answer. Eventually got my money back. It's a good price for what you can get now with his 3rd gen manifold that has been completely reworked, but why send out sh*t fitting things or unfinished pieces to begin with and not spend the time to perfect it in the beginning?

Is your buddy going to make a build thread when he gets everything pieced together?
