1 may be one injector failed under tuned overload and started leak fuel
the you've got hydro knock in that cylinder or cylinder burned out by leaking injector
2 after cbu may be some of the intake manifold flaps jumped to cylinder
you need to check compression in that cylinder and if it is low - replace cylinder head

I COMPLETELY feel your pain...I heard the exact same thing from my mechanic.... Its one of those awful scenarios of taking this car to someone who doesnt know the ins and outs of aftermarket tuning...

I would pull all the injectors and get them tested by a shop with one of the bosch injector testers.... replace the bad ones...make sure they are seated correctly.....Hopefully your heads are still okay and its just a failed injector...

Is your oil level low or empty? It didn't seem like runaway but I'm not sure how the dde handles that, maybe it auto shuts down using the throttle to prevent a blow up.

As for the injector, can you see where it leaked fuel? There are many locations that could have got loose when they checked the injector and if you lose pressure the injector pump might such air and steak the car.
Hopefully it's this simple. After you get them to fix the leak, run the Rheingold ista-d injector smooth running control test to see if the misfire injector is really at fault. It's easy to misdiagnose these cars when they spit out definitive codes which in reality have many factors that could be at fault.

Residual "oil" from their work? They are "guessing"?

Please run from that place. Find someone who is at least honest with you. I agree with OmahaDZL, test the compression. Test each injector. Replace bad ones. Seat them correctly, reset adaptations.

It's kinda crazy to me that nobody seems to know how to fix these cars. But no mechanics will turn them down. A bit of a recipe for disaster!
Agree with Yozh....first find a mechanic who has actually done real work on an M57 engine... "Not being able to work on it because its tuned" is a bs response when they dont know what they are doing.....My mechanic said the same thing, I discovered a vacuum hose issue and the car ran 10x better....then I discovered an injector that had a broken head.... problems solved... all because my mechanic didnt know what he was doing with my car... and it had nothing to do with the tune.....but the tune got blamed!

Take your injectors to a shop with this.....get them all tested (not cleaned)....and if they are bad, fully replace.. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...8&postcount=12

If anything, deletes should make engine issues much easier to diagnose.

So I'm not saying this is your problem, but I've experienced something similar.

I had been running my car completely stock at the time with a jbd controller. Everything was running great. On a trip to big bend I got some rough running, and it felt like the car was running on like 3-4 cylinders. Turned it off, turned it back on barely idled, gave it some throttle and it had the power of a weed wacker, no smoke (dpf still in place) but strong smell of diesel. Eventually got a limp mode and half engine light. Was like shit, 350 miles from the nearest BMW dealer.

Removed my jbd, and reset the codes engine ran fine again. The jbd had failed. I bring this up because your fueling issue seems to affect more than one cylinder. Which would indicate an element common to all the injectors. Fuel rail pressure sensor, hpfp, etc. are there other codes that your car is generating? Have you talked with your tuner about what maybe happening?

3rd verse of same song others sang. Not that this is it but low battery in BMWs acts very wonky. Charge that battery to see if the craziness persists. Eliminate that variable, sir.

Has your tuner flashed you to the newest factory programming first?
