Limp Mode, SES, 29D1 on WOT (JB4) - troubleshooting advice needed
So, I've run into this issue twice in 2 days. When I try to go WOT in 3rd or 4th I hit limp mode, and get an SES. The only code being thrown is a 29D1 - Cyl 5 Misfire.
All 6 plugs replaced with OEM less than 500 miles ago. I've only owned the car for a few months so don't know last time coils were done. Running JB4 on Map 5, 93 octane. Only other engine mod is DCI. I know that plugs and coils are usually the first suspects. Questions: (1) Should I try replacing cyl 5 plug or moving cyl 5 coil to another cylinder first? (2) how do I attach logs? (3) any good tutorial material on how to learn to read these logs myself or examples of what a 'good log' looks like? I know, lots of newb questions. Thanks everyone. (the only other issue of note is that I have a bit of a rough idle and sliiiight stumbling on a cold start. goes away once car is warm. not sure if this is related or not but thought it would be worth mentioning) |

Found a good sticky on this, looks like I need to get in there and (a) check plug for fuel smell (signs of injector leak) and (b) move or replace coil depending on how proactive I want to be. Given that the car had been running strong with no issues for 500 miles with these settings, I assume I can eliminate a bad plug gap on that cylinder as the potential cause (?).
I am going to order a spare plug and coil and then open her up. Would still appreciate any guidance on the topic, and info regarding posting and reading logs. Thanks |

Send the logs to BMS
I know you changed plugs not too long ago, i would still start by moving spark plug from cylinder 5 to another cylinder and checking if codes stays the same. Next step is ignition coils, start by moving ignition coil from cylinder 5 to another cylinder and check code again

Thanks Mike. Is it smart or stupid to do something like move plug to cylinder 4 and coil to cylinder 6 to try and isolate the issue in one run?
