Key Not Recognized First Thing In A.M.

Every morning, my '10 E90 does not seem to recognize my key.

The dash lights up, radio comes on, etc., but the car will not start.

I always have to remove the key from the slot once, put it back in, and then everything is fine.

For the rest of the day, it will function perfectly.

Any ideas?

Do you have comfort access? If not, change the battery.

It's a brand new key that I ordered directly from BMW. It does not have a replaceable battery.

I have comfort access & it needs a replacement battery every 3-4 years I have noticed. I get the battery str8 from BMW , they just give it to me for free.

They should do the same for you , but it probably depends on which one you go to. I don't even get serviced at BmW but they still give me a free battery, maybe it's so cheap they don't care?!
