330D N57 engine Swirl flaps
Hi all
I currently own a E90 330D LCI 2010 with N57 engine and looking to upgrade to a F30 330D 2014 which has the same engine N57 ( I think ) Does the new F30 N57 engine have swirl flap problems like the older M57 and N57 engine or have they fixed it in the F30 car Thanks |

I hate to guess, but there are two things I'll mention: 1) I believe that BMW went to the newer DDE with the N57 that they used on USA/CA M57, to meet emissions control requirements. The new DDE requires a different actuator design for the swirl flaps. 2) No-one in the USA/CA has had problems with their swirl flaps on their M57 due with the different design. Nor have we seen problems with the N57 in the new X5 or the 535d. |

Post 19 below. The same swirl flap setup as the E90 330d LCI. I removed the swirl flaps from mine.
