Good old HPFP chat

Hi all,

I imagine this is the 1000th thread about the HPFP but I am curious as most thread are years and years old now.

My 2008 N54 135i HPFP has died a death. I have a pump on order and plan to fit it over the weekend if it arrives today that is!

Just wondered if anyone has any recommendation about approaching BMW etc with this issue? I know only North US got extended warranty etc but I wondered how many over here have had any luck with BMW?

The car is 9 years old and done 64K so chances are they will tell me to swivel due to age but I can't help but feel begrudged to go and spend this money on a known flawed component.

Any input?

No harm in visiting a stealer and asking if your car was subject to a HPFP recall. You never know, it might have slipped through the net...

Yeah good luck with that.
UK dealers won't do anything and neither will BMW UK.

The American market is far larger and their blame culture allows them to get longer warranties and compensation

I caved in the end and bought a new latest P/N pump from BMW.

The retail on these from bmw was something like £980, crazy money!

Luckily a friend works in parts and got it down to £720. Then also advised if I return my old pump they refund something like £140 or there abouts.

Either way it's a joke but the new pump is in and the car seems happy again!
