Here's a video of my 335 smoking on start up. Pretty sure my turbo seals are toast but i'd like some other opinions on this issue! Should i check anything else before betting on the turbos? They are standard original cast RB's
Its been getting worse and worse over time, i burn about a quart of oil every 1,000 - 1,500 miles. Every time i take the car out i floor it so that doesnt help the issue, but these turbos have about 25,000 hard beaten miles on them so far. Always doing 3rd to 5th gear pulls and i used Mobil one oil for most of their life (now running Redline only). OCC, PCV, Valve cover gasket, HPFP, injectors, O2's, plugs/coils were all recently replaced. Last edited by natedog7700; 08-03-2017 at 03:50 PM.. |

You'll want to check the intake tract to make sure there isnt a significant amount of oil in that. The PCV system tends to fail and that could be a possibility as well. Check the coolant too and make sure there isnt oil in there either

We're in the same boat then haha. I scheduled an appointment with the dealership but I realized im not covered for new turbos anymore. So at this point im going to have to most likely purchase new ones. I have that same stutter after I start the car, ive lost oil like you have as well, and see a good amount of smoke just like in your video after i installed my catless exhaust. Also replaced my plugs and coils and did my valve cover gasket. Im at 73k miles so my last assumption is that it has to be the seals. When I did my VCG i noticed a good amount of oil build up in the engine, i can assume its gunked in the lines by the turbos causing pressure and eventually small drops of oil to keep burning off. I also think i have oil in the same areas you have. The only real way to check is to take the downpipe off and look inside the turbo for any oil to be 100% sure
