Best car finance?

Hi chaps

My Mrs desperately needs a new motor and we are thinking about a <1 yr old 118i from a car supermarket.

As usual most finance deals with the dealers are pitiful. I have used Lombard in the past, can anyone recommend anyone else? Looking for around 10k on finance.

Cheers

Ta. That's a good rate considering the supermarket quoted over 7%.

Main supermarkets were pretty good when I last looked. TSB also seem to be pretty competitive. and according to MSE M&S are doing good deals.

You should be able to get 3% ish or slightly less....

Sign up for credit matcher first - some of the supermarkets have very strange lending criteria.

I applied to Sainsbury's, got rejected and my Experian score went from 999 to less than 800. When I used credit matcher, it said 0% chance of acceptance by Sainsbury's - no idea why. Tried Tesco and got the loan straight away.

Don't bother with Sainsbury's. I applied @ 3.2% and got accepted at 6.2%. Phoned them and they couldn't give me a valid reason for the hike in %. Even though I had a 998 credit score. Wankers.

who do you bank with, generally their rates are close enough for convenience sake to stick with them.

The other 'alf is with Nationwide. Just looked at their site and they are offering some good deals. Thanks all.

had a number of loans from Nationwide - always fair and helpful so far - mind, to release the funds they need a signed copy of the form which has to be posted which takes time - so secure the finance before committing to a collection date.

I had exactly the same... my credit score is very good and was being pre-accepted for many loans etc, applied for a Sainsburys credit card and got a flat out no...

then went on to get a mortgage, two new cars etc no problem?!

Depending on the number of bags required (money not drugs...different thread) - I have a loan with Zopa. They are brilliant, easy, online, next day funds, and 3%...
