Custom exhaust, Downpipe to single 3.5/4" to 335is mufflers

Bored at work and was thinking if anyone has tried to do a custom exhaust where you would have
Downpipes > Y pipe > single 3.5"/4.0" > Y pipe > 335is/ M perm exhaust

Have a single fat resonator in the single mid pipe.

Won't do, it but just thinking of the idea of it. Anyone have thoughts on it?

Why Y-pipe down to a single pipe, only to Y-pipe it again for dual tips? Might as well maintain a true dual setup, imo

Not too sure, only thing i can honestly think is weight savings. But considering the oem mufflers still there its not too much.

Maybe there is a significant sound difference when a single thicker pipe vs dual smaller ones.

Or you could just get the VRSF exhaust which just replaces everything from the downpipes back. Sounds pretty good in clips and saves 35 lbs. I have a 335is and I'd have no problem dropping the factory exhaust to save 35 lbs. It's a y pipe to a single 3.5" pipe to a single muffler with dual outlets, pretty simple.

Wtf your downpipes are going from 3" to the stock exhaust ID, then you want it to go up to a 4" then back down stock id again ??
