Duke Dynamics rear bumper questions

Hey guys,

My car has been in the body shop for the last month waiting on E90 Mtech with PDC. The bumper, however, is on national backorder and BMW won't tell the dealership when they can expect to get their hands on one for me. That pisses me off because only God knows when I can get my car back.

I am, however, really liking the DD rear and was wondering where I can get one. Additionally, will Mtech diffusers be compatible with the DD rear?

Thanks so much for the help.

Mike

Tischer had the mtech in stock. Check with Evan/Jason tomorrow.

IIRC, the mtech and DD diffusers aren't compatible, as the bumpers are slightly different.

There's a national backorder for the E90 Mtech rears with PDC so I doubt Tischer has them unless they are left over, but I was told nobody nationwide has these bumpers, that's why I'm stuck in this situation.

Thanks for the help!

That's their thread from the vendors section. Jason/Evan didn't mention they were sold out, but they may not have had the PDC version either. I went to the order section, and it does let me add it to the cart, so you never know.

Wouldn't hurt to check with the tomorrow over AIM

I hear ya. My problem is that I have a $450 budget on the bumper parts (insurance) and I think they sell it + shipping for A LOT more. Considering I can get it at cost here, I don't want to get raped on something I could wait for and get much cheaper. However, I don't want to wait so I want to find a different option for the rear bumper.

Did you try calling/PM'ng Rick (think that's his name)? His screen name is RRG007 (or w/e), and he's in Florida and was selling the e90 stuff recently.

I'd get an mtech personally, as many have had fitment problems with the DD stuff.

I have a good body shop so they can get the fitment spot on...

I know Randy personally, he deals E92 Mtech stuff and the other guy down here is E90 and has the same national backorder problem. I wouldn't have this issue if BMW told me when I can expect to get the bumper, but they have no idea.

I was in a similar situation about 2 months ago; the lower engine shield for the E92 Mtech was on national backorder, and the body shop wouldn't let me take the car off the lot until they could install the piece. Jason over at Tischerbmw had a good price, but couldn't give me an exact time estimate for the part.

I finally just had the service department at my dealer order the part for me. I was told that although it may be on backorder, sometimes the parts can arrive early. They told me to expect the part within 3 weeks, but I actually got it 5 days after I placed the order. Believe me, being surprised like that was an amazing feeling, haha. I personally would not go with the DD bumper because of the fitment issues I've heard of.

Thanks for the advice on the DD fitment issues. I guess I am really stuck because I can't think of anyone that makes a nice aftermarket bumper for the E90 for the rear. DTM Autohaus makes a nice front that I will be buying, but I need a frackin' rear right now and nobody on this earth knows when it will be available.

I got a DD m-tech style bumper from ebay for $400 shipped. But yeah the fitment sucks and it took a lot of extra work to make it fit right.
