Just want to make sure as I don't have any instructions and the DIY isn't clear on this aspect.

Do yourself a favor and upgrade those upper mounts...the stock pieces are horrid.

They're new at least. Anything specific you suggest?

But is it correct orientation?

That looks right. The rubber bushing should be pushed all the way down when you mount them. The thin black rubber piece is what sits up against the body, then the captive nut goes on the top from the trunk. I just did b8 and eibach springs today.

Thanks. Everything went smooth except I snapped the lower bolt of the sway linkage off. So... guess I'm going to get an extractor set tomorrow. Huge PITA.

Did you remove the rear sway bar link? I didn't have to remove mine to get the shock out.

Yup. Replaced the sway bar, spring, link, all the arms, etc. Huge job. Would be done but my brake lines aren't here yet and I can't get the seized bolt (now snapped) out of the hole. Snapped a cobalt bit trying to drill it out. I rigged up a ziploc so it's submerged in PB blaster right now, gonna let it sit a few days.

How difficult is it to replace the rear E90 sway bar endlinks? I remember there was a control arm in the way but can't remember if it blocks the endlink nut/bolts.

As long as the bolts aren't seized it's super easy...

Buy the Monroe shock mounts. They're much better than those stock yellow ones that creat the second oscillation. Fcobra is right.

Best thing to do is look up the orientation on BMWfans.info

Look at the diagram
