My ABS light, brake light, and traction control light all went on solid at the same time. Strangely enough, JB4 is reading no codes.

From what I've read it's anything from $100 sensor to a $2k DSC hydro pump...

Ideas?

EDIT: I did pull the codes, 5DF0 and 5DF1, so my ABS pump is certainly failing.

1. How do I know if the attached computer module is also bad?
2. I plan on sending the ABS pump to be rebuilt by ModuleMasters, but if the computer module is also bad do I need to buy an entirely new unit anyway?

Thanks

This just happened to me as well due to a curb accident. I drive a 325xi awd I have those lights on and the 4x4 Light on.
I am going to get my car aligned and try swapping out sensors first

Turns out my ABS module is bad (common problem). It's a $2800 part, so instead I sent it off to Module Masters to rebuild it and fix the inherent flaw in the brushes in the ABS pump itself. Waiting on that currently..

I would certainly start with the wheel speed sensors as you mentioned, much cheaper fix than the ABS module.

You could shop for used ABS module.

I debated that, but the issue seems to be a design flaw with the part and not a matter of age deterioration or mileage, so I figured even a used one would be at risk of failing again. Additionally, used ABS module/pumps are usually more than the $250 for a proper rebuild anyway
